It's been almost two weeks since Remus told me about his furry little issue, but I'm glad he told me. It took those two weeks to convince him, but he finally comfortable enough to tell the others about it. I've explained to him that I will be right by his side when he tells them, which seemed to calm his nerves. We had been friends for four years, I would never leave his side. "You think maybe if I started offering Lily chocolates she might say yes?" James skips another pebble across the water. Sirius sat with his legs dipped in the lake while Peter picked at the grass. I sat with Remus just watching the water. "I doubt it, though if I were her I'd take the chocolate and say no" He stopped and turned to me, glaring. "I am offended!"
"Hey guys... Could we talk for a moment" Remus speaks up from the group, setting his book on the grass. "We already are" Sirius jokes, though Peter looks up from the small pile of grass he made and James stopped skipping pebbles. "It's important, so please listen Sirius" He turns around to face us. "Alright, we're listening. What is it Remus?" He took a deep breath. "I've been meaning to tell you the real reason why I leave for a while each month... I can't keep it a secret from you guys anymore" I held his hand to reassure him that everything was okay. "I'm...I'm a werewolf" The boys looked stunned for a moment. "You're a werewolf? Mate why didn't you tell us sooner?"
"I thought you'd leave me... That you wouldn't want to be my friend anymore because..." He looks to me. "I thought I was a monster..." The boys seemed just as shocked as I did when he told me. "We will always be your friend, there's no way you could be a monster" Peter gives our tall friend an awkward hug, well it looked really awkward. "See... It's alright" I give his hand a little squeeze before letting go. I looked towards James who had a strange look on his face, the kind of strange look he has whenever he has a stupid idea. "Guys... I have an idea" Here we go, this could either be really stupid or really great. "Why don't we help Remus each time he goes wolf? We could go with him so he isn't alone!"
"I don't want to hurt you guys! I won't allow it, you aren't an animal like me... I could seriously hurt you" Although his heart was in the right place, his idea was stupid. How on earth were we supposed to help him without getting hurt? "What if we were animals though? We would be able to safely help you then, right?" I look over to Remus who seemed to be thinking hard about it. "I guess it's possible..." He wasn't seriously considering this, was he? "It's settled then, we will become animals so we can help our furry friend!" How on earth were we gonna pull this off, I had no idea but this is James. So it'll happen whether we like it or not. "But James we are just fourth years! We can't even produce a patronus let alone become an animagus" Peter starts to panic. "It'll be fine, we can spend spare study lessons on figuring out how to do it"
"I'm always by your side mate" Sirius goes and stands by James. "Me too" I join them, I look over to Peter who seemed unsure about the situation. "Alright" Now we are all standing except Remus, it was kinda awkward. Poor lad seemed as though he was gonna burst into tears again. "We are all here for you and we always will be" He came up and hugged us. It helped that he was the tallest because he was able to hug all of us together. Now... This really will take time.

"Heya Lily, Hey Sev!" The librarian glared at me as I joined their study session. "It's been a while Elsie, tired of causing trouble I suppose?" She jokes quietly. "You could say that but no" I figured I'd get a start on operation furball because the boys will have no idea where to start, thankfully I have trusty book friends. "I know you two are kinda busy with study but I need a hand" She looks up from her book. "Sure, what's up?" Severus already lost interest in the conversation and went back to his study. "Well you know how we have a report on animagus and werewolves for DADA?" She nods, hopefully she doesn't think I'm being too weird about this. "Well I wanted to look more into it for the report so I could get a better grade" The report wasn't due for another two weeks but I think it'd be suspicious if I said I was looking it all up on a whim. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't. Books bore me. "Oh yeah, there should be a few books on it in that aisle over there... Bottom shelf" She points to an aisle that's on the other side of the room. "Thank you!"
"Shh" Oops... My bad. "Thank you" I say but much quieter this time. "Alright I'll leave you to study now... Bye Lily, bye Severus" I walked straight to where Lily directed and found a few books that would help. After grabbing the books I needed and checking them out, I made my way to the common room. It was empty when I got there. Everyone must still be in classes. "Oh hey Elsie... Do you need a hand there?" It was Sirius of all people, why wasn't he with the others? Or did he just skip class again? "Uh... yes please" He takes a couple of books off of my stack and places them on the rug by the fireplace. "Already starting on James' new plan?" He asks, I join him on the floor and open up the first book. "Yeah, besides we have a report to write on it anyway" I think it was only a page or two long. "He only announced we were going to do this a week ago" It was true, Remus only announced his secret a week ago but if we were serious about this then we have to start now.
"Well I really want this to work... So I'm getting started on it now" He picked up another book and tucked his hair behind his ears, straight into reading. In the past four years I've known him, I don't think I have ever seen him happily pick up a book and read it. "Let me help you start then" I smile, he really does want to help Remus too. "Thank you"
