"Accio sneakers" Was all I had to say after an hour of searching. You would think that after ten minutes I would have thought of using magic, but no. I was an idiot and decided I would take an hour looking for shoes." You know, one could question your intelligence" Alice smirked evilly. "You could have helped me look" I say as I put on the second shoe." It was more fun watching you suffer" And that right there is friendship." I will get vengeance" We make our way into the common room. Mary and Lily were waiting by the entrance." Right, lets go!" Mary grabs my hand tightly and drags me out the room. The two girls following close behind. "You know Elsie, it doesn't take long to put shoes on" She looked at me, smiling." Well Alice here didn't want to help" I look over to the girl who let me suffer. I will get revenge, most likely by eating her food or something. Either way, I'm gonna get her back" Thats what friends are for" Lily nods in agreement.
The three broomsticks was quite busy today, full of wizards and witches of all ages. We all sat at our usual table, discussing the plans for today." We should go to Zonkos and grab some things, maybe have a snowball fight, oh and we should go get some school supplies..... And I also think we should go get some sweets while we are here, to cheer Elsie up" At the sound of my name, I look up. "Whats going on?" I look up at Alice, her eyes were full of worry. "I said we should get you some sweets to cheer you up, about the other day..." My friends want to give me food? And sweets at that? "Thats really kind but I'm fine" I say, staring at my butter beer." You've been staring at your drink for the past five minutes, are you sure?" She really is a mother hen at times. Always worried about her children and overly protective at times. She shouldn't have to be worried, I will get over Sirius. I was the one who broke up with him and he did deserve it. No one should be treated like the way Severus was. Especially for entertainment. Its just sick. I just nod my head, taking a sip of my drink. When I put it down I could feel the frothy white stuff above my lip.
I wipe the frothy moustache off with my sleeve. "So shall we head to the store full of sugar?" Alice suggests. "Sounds lovely" We all got up and walked out of the tavern. "Its not that far right?" As we walked to the candy store I noticed that there weren't many Hogwarts students around. I wonder where everyone was today, perhaps they were all crowded within the stores. "Ladies first" Lily holds the door open jokingly. "Why thank you kind sir" I play along with this game she has created. My theory was somewhat right, the store was crowded with familiar faces of students I've seen around the castle. All smiling and happy. It was nice." Right. Elsie I will buy you one thing" As Alice said that I was already looking at all the things I could possibly eat." Nothing to expensive please.." I felt like a child again. I felt happy. Its like the exams had never happened and all the bad feelings are gone. It seems I can always rely on food and just eat my feelings. " You went on a rampage" My friends stare at me all wearing a blunt expression. Did I do something wrong? I don't think I have." Its not that much" It was true, I only had one bag full of candy and chocolate. And to be fair, it is worth it since it's delicious.
" Yeah, not that much" After we all payed for our stuff we made our way to the next store." Um Elsie.." Mary taps my shoulder." Yeah?" I grab a liquorice wand and start to eat it." Theres something in your hair" My hair? I use my free hand to feel my hair." Don't touch it! Its jinxed!" Lily rushes over." Its looks like gum though" Alice mutters." If you touch it, it will expand. Making it harder for us to get it out of her hair" Lily explains. "I will put on a hat then, problem solved" I take her green hat and put it on. I smirked.
-back at the common room-
So the gum got worse. It somehow expanded so much that its almost become my hair. "Theres nothing else I can try" Lily kept pacing back and forth, running her hands through her beautiful red hair that wasn't gum infested. I sat on my bed, watching her. " We could just cut her hair" Alice suggested, popping a jellybean in her mouth. That doesn't sound like a bad idea."Are you mad?" She only shrugs in response." I say we do it" Lily looks at me shocked." We aren't cutting your hair" She stated." Yes we are" And thus an argument had begun. It involved a lot of yelling and Lily pacing the room. I feel sorry for the people outside our dorm. They can probably hear us. But to be honest there really was no other choice, besides my hair will grow back. Eventually. In the end I won the argument. " Fine, anyone got scissors?" She asks, I reach for my backpack and grab a pair of scissors. Why I carry scissors around in my bag? I do not know. I hand them to Lily, who didn't seem to pleased about cutting my hair. I sat there quietly as she went to work, cutting more of my hair off. The more she cut the better I felt. And after fifteen minutes the gum was out, along with my hair." Well it doesn't look too bad" Alice hands me a mirror. She was right, it didn't look that bad at all.
My chestnut hair sat just above my shoulders. It was all scruffy and boyish. Standing up in different places. I liked it." Thanks Lily, I appreciate it" She frowns a little." And when it grows back you won't have to cut it again"
