you can really never know
if someone loves you
they could be faking it
they could remember
all your favorite things
and the date you first met
and the exact time you were born
they can recite
all of these things to you
years later
saying that
they remembered because
"they love you"
but
that does NOT mean
that they do
they could brush your hair
out of your face
and kiss your forehead
and rub your back
until you fall asleep
in their lap
they could tell you
"i love you"
in the most tender
sincere voice
you have ever heard
and still cheat on you
behind your back
never rely on love
from someone
who has hurt you in the past
some people will do anything
to get into your pants
including "love" you
