i wish to be the reason
heads turn in the hallways
i wish to be the person
that everyone drools over
and obsesses about
i wish to have a voice
like honey
and the ability to play
every instrument
beautifully
i wish to be artistically gifted
to the point where my art
hangs on the walls of museums
i wish to be so cherished
and loved
and admired
that i begin to love myself
but that is simply a fairytale
and i am not exactly
what you would call royalty
no genie
could ever grant my wishes
despite how desperate i am
for them to come true
