(Okay Serena, your turn is over.) Hey everyone, it's Aeolus. I get to tell this part because one: Serena was unconscious during this, and two: I need to tell my part of the story. Serena didn't tell you how all of this went for me. So, it started Friday morning, when I was watching the news, and saw Serena near the fire. As soon as she called me, I was mad. I immediately asked her what she did. (Whatever Serena.) Serena says y'all already heard this part. Fine, skip to the next morning. It's Saturday, and I'm up a little before dawn. I call Serena. Okay you have already heard this part too, fine, but what I bet you didn't know, is that I knew Serena changed where she was going. I packed my bag as quickly as I could, left my parents a note, and jumped on my bike. I had a pretty long ride to the subway station, and the whole time I was debating whether or not I should really be doing this. Once I got to the zoo, it was too late to turn back. Once we got to the campsite, I set up my tent, set up a magic perimeter around the clearing, said goodnight, and crawled into my tent. I couldn't sleep. I stared at the ceiling of my tent, tossed and turned, and tried to pull up background noise on my phone, but there was no service. After a while, I took my sleeping bag outside and stared up at the stars. And eventually fell asleep. When I woke up in the morning, Serena's tent flap was open. Y'all know what happened after that. Then came the argument. Once Serena's Shadow Magic showed itself, I was so mad, as she mentioned, (fine Serena), as she mentioned because I told her to, I like being a careful, behaving child. Serena is rebellious. She needs to be more careful. She's telling me to drop it, fine I will for now. I was so mad, and then I felt the anger growing and growing until it had taken over my body, I had no control. Only the anger. I could see what was going on, feel everything, but I couldn't control my actions, the anger, or light magic, whatever it was, had taken over. When it blasted Serena with the energy orb, my heart broke. (Yeah, yeah, I cared. Just shut up and let me tell the story, go walk the dog.) Okay, she left. When she was just laying there, what used to be me about to finish her off. I fought the hardest I had ever fought, when she looked into my eyes I knew she could see that I was trying to fight it. Her speech gave me the strength to control the magic. But the effort knocked me out. I woke up to Serena nudging me and saying my name. Then the whole apologies thing. And Serena passed out. I desperately tried to remember something that might be able to help her. I considered carving out the ground around her, lifting it up using my magic, using my air magic to make it float so that I could get her to a hospital, but I was afraid that any movement might cause her more pain. I constantly checked her pulse, making sure she was still alive. Once, when I checked her pulse, it was too slow.
"No,no, no. Come on Serena, stay with me." Her pulse steadily slowed. "Come on you weirdo, you are the strongest person I know, you are going to make it through this." her heartbeat has almost stopped now. Then, nothing. "Serena! Come on!" I started doing CPR, after thirty compressions, I checked her pulse again, it was back. I sighed with relief. She was alive. "You scared me half to-" I couldn't bring myself to say death, it was a little too soon "You scared me. You are not going to die today. You are the most stubborn person I know, you are going to make it through this." Serena had been through so much. And now here she was, broken and dying in a clearing. She was only fifteen, she was not going to die. "You have to pull through this." I said quietly. One of my tears hit Serena right where her heart was. She began to glow, lifting slightly off the ground, her arms, which had been bent at awkward angles, fixed themselves, her other limbs relaxed, and she lowered back to the ground. I checked her pulse again and it was strong. As my fingers touched her neck, her eyes flew open and she bolted upright. I sobbed with relief and threw my arms around her.
"You're Okay!" I gave her a huge hug, she winced
"Ow! It still hurts you jerk." I drew back
"Sorry." I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes before she could see them.
"Why are you crying?"
"Um, well, I don't know how to tell you this but, well-"
"Just say it you idiot." By the way, all of these names she calls me, we use those to show that we care about each other.
"You died."
"WHAT?!"
"You told me to tell you."
"What do you mean I died?"
"I'm pretty sure there is only one definition of death."
"My heart completely stopped beating?"
"Yes." She ran her hand through her pitch black hair.
"Then how am I alive? How is my back not broken, how am I moving?"
"I did CPR-" Her face turned red.
"Um-"
"Only compressions." She sighed with relief.
"And then, well, I was crying, one of my tears hit your heart, and then you started glowing, and- you were okay." I know that it is always weird when someone finds out they died, but it is hard when you are telling your best friend. Serena sat there for a long time, trying to process everything that had just happened. After a few hours. I finally convinced her to go into her tent, rest, and eat something. (Oh wonderful, welcome back Serena. No it's not your turn yet) Anyways, Serena argued that she had died and didn't need any rest, it was still kind of light out, but after she lay her head on the pillow, her soft snoring drifted across the clearing. This wasn't the first time we had gone camping together, so I was used to being able to fall asleep with her snoring. But after today, I wasn't sure I would be able to sleep. After using my light magic, I kept wanting to use it. Remembering how using the light magic had knocked me out earlier, I decided to see if I could use it to fly above the trees, and scout out another exit. I concentrated on a feeling of freedom and joy. The clearing brightened, and I rose off the ground, immediately, I felt tired, I went back down, crawled into my tent, and collapsed.
