Wow Serena, are you really letting me have the end of the book? Thanks. After Serena passed out, again (Ugh fine) I- passed out too. (Oh come on, stop laughing!) Rexton gave me a
different message though, it started off the same "Well done, you are not done almost dying yet" something along those lines. Then, he said something about more help on it's way. Then I passed out. I woke up to the sound of Serena talking to Pax, I sat up and looked around. Our group had split up into smaller groups of twos. Serena stood with Pax, Elena with Reggie, Dylan with River, and Khonsu, Cruz, and Nessa stood together chatting. There was a pain in the back of my head when I touched it, I felt a bump, probably hit my head when I passed out. I stood up, and Serena looked over, smirking.
"Well good morning sunshine."
"You passed out too." she narrowed her eyes, then smiled again.
"Nevermind that, what matters is that a bunch of teenagers defeated the most powerful demons in the world! And, we have our own base now."
"What?" I must have hit my head pretty hard, because it sounded like Serena was embracing being a guardian. I searched her face, looking for any trace of Serafina, but all I saw was Serena, grinning. Though I saw something in her eyes, I wasn't sure what it was.
"Aeolus, there had to be a reason we were meant to win the battle here."
"Yeah, okay. But a base?"
"A headquarters. We've been talking, and we thought it would be a good idea to have some of us go out and keep an eye on the world. There is more trouble on the way after all. We could set up a station here, to keep tabs on our field agents and keep in touch with them." I sighed inwardly with relief. I hadn't wanted to believe that Serafina had changed her, but I couldn't be sure. I was glad she hadn't, Serena is a handful on her own, she doesn't need any help. (Ow! There is no need to hit.) "Are you alright? They said you fell pretty hard." I shook myself, and smiled.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm good."
"What? Did you really think that I wanted this as a base for the guardians because we are more important than everyone else? No, we are just normal teenagers, okay, maybe a little extra ordinary." I looked down at the floor, she was right, I should have known her better than that. "Hey," I felt her hand on my shoulder. Her tone was gentle. I looked up into her eyes, and she wrapped me in a tight hug. "Thank you, you've been there through everything." an "ooh" broke out from the group behind us and she glared at them before stepping back and, of course, swatting the back of my head, right where it hurt. Quick solution, I healed myself. I walked to the nearest opening at the top of the pyramid, looking out at the world beyond, it was all forested land as far as I could see. I turned back to the group
"Has anyone confirmed where we are?" Everyone looked at each other then looked at the floor. "Nobody?" I sighed and looked back out at the forest, we had no idea where we were, we might not even be on earth anymore. Using my air magic, I floated off the ground and flew out over the forest. There was only the ocean and forest, no cities, no people. One thing was for certain, This wasn't earth, We were in our own world, Isolated from everyone we had known back home. I turned back toward the pyramid and saw a swirling black portal, as someone walked through, I flew closer, a girl, a couple years younger than me, looked around in wonder, admiring the ruins, across the clearing, another portal opened ad a boy my age stepped out, more portals opened all around the cleaning, closing once the traveler emerged. The one thing I noticed, they were all kids. There were no adults. This is what Rexton must have meant when he said more help was coming.. I flew back into the pyramid and landed in front of the group
"Guys, we are going to have a lot of field agents."
"What do you mean? There are only ten of us, and Elena and Cruz are going home leaving eight, minus the two of us leaving six." Serena said
I grabbed her hand and led her to the opening that faced the caring and her eyes widened as she took in the scene below.
"We aren't on earth anymore."
"What are we supposed to do here?"
"I don't know, but whatever it is, we will figure it out together. I squeezed her and, and i elt a hand grip my other one, I looked over and saw River standing next to me, Dylan at her side I watched Pax grab Serena's hand as Reggie his, followed by Elena. Cruz grabbed Dylan's hand and Nessa took Cruz's. As we looked at the kids below, we knew- everything was changing.
