"Cool, I've never been to California." Aeolus said

"None of us have." I said, Buck the Buckskin leaned towards Aeolus' hair and began trying to eat it. Aeolus stepped away and shot the horse a look. Buck must have been eating a lot of grass, because when he'd tried to eat Aeolus' hair, it stained it green. I bit back a laugh. "Are you guys ready to go to California?"

"Sure."

"Yeah!"

"Yep."

"Arf!"

"Alright. Let's do this." I concentrated on opening a portal to the beach where I had seen Cruz. and it opened in front of me. "Pax and River, you go first." I said, as I began to feel weak, and then, to make things worse, I felt the Blankness begin to struggle against my mental safe. But I hid the pain until River and Pax were through the portal, followed by Loki, and then I collapsed. Aeolus rushed to my side.

"The Blankness?" I nodded. "Alright, we will rest here for a minute." I nodded gratefully, and tried to upgrade my mental safe, but I was so weak that it took me a few tries. When I finally upgraded it, and couldn't feel the Blankness struggling against me, I stood.

"Alright, I'm good."

"Are you sure?" I nodded. "Okay-" I grabbed his hand, and pulled him through the portal. And walked tow

When we arrived on the beach, Pax and River were standing with their backs to us, with Loki next to River as she stroked his head. They were watching the sunlight sparkle off the water, and talking about horses. I looked out at the water and saw a big wave approaching someone on a surfboard. They were too far away for me to tell if it was Cruz, but I thought I could see blonde hair. The person stood up on their board as the wave approached. And rode it all the way to shore. He undid the tie from his ankle, picked up his board and looked around, until his gaze fell on us. He cocked his head to the side in confusion, and started walking our way, when suddenly, Demons emerged from a wave on surfboards, but they were not like any other demon I had seen, or heard of. Instead of fire, they seemed to be made of water, and it looked like they had animal heads, like the art you see with Egyptian gods, a human body with an animal head. I saw a horse, a dog, and I'm pretty sure I saw a Platypus. But as they approached the shore, their forms shimmered and changed, so that they no longer looked like they were made of water, or had animal heads, instead, they looked like normal humans, surfing back to shore. The kid looked behind him, and rushed over to us.

"You need to leave, now." It was Cruz, I showed him my mark, Aeolus and Pax did the same.

"We aren't going anywhere, I have never seen demons like that before." he looked like he was to argue, then sighed and said,

"Fine," he looked back at the demons, they were getting even closer to shore, he turned back to us "but stay out of my way."

"Not happening, we are going to help." he rolled his eyes and looked us over. I did the same to him, he was tall, maybe a year or two older than me, his long hair wet from the waves. He seemed to be in good shape, probably from all the surfing. When his gaze fell on Loki, he raised an eyebrow

"You guys can help. But the dog?"

"Trust me, he can help." Pax said, smirking.

"Whatever." He moved the collar of his wetsuit to show us his mark, a water droplet over a mountain.

"Water and earth, impressive." Aeolus said.

"Thanks, now let's kick some demon butt." as he said the word demon, I remembered something. I knew this would take a lot of energy out of me, but I put a stasis over the entire beach, including the strange surfing Demons. I had never done such a large scale stasis, everything and everyone on the beach glowed blue and orange, but it was fainter than normal, that was weird. Everyone in front of me fell, the demons fell off their boards, and even the ocean seemed to sleep. I woke up Aeolus and he sat up, looking around.
