Chapter 32

Octavia's POV

Ace, Ashley and I are sitting next to each other on a plane with Allegra's family when I get the call.

"Hey, did you get Amelia?" I ask Vince but I hear the pain in his voice.

"Yeah, yeah we did. We got her" his voice is strained and I stand up walking away from the group and into the back by the bathroom.

"What's wrong? Why does it sound like you've been crying?" My heart rate picks up as I start to worry.

"I need you to sit down"

"Just tell me"

"Octavia I-"

"Vince spit it out"

"Roman's dead....... Ok"

I go quiet waiting for him to admit that this is some sick joke.

Laughing awkwardly I breathe out. "That's not funny"

"I'm not joking"

"Vince.... I SWEAR IF THIS IS SOME SICK JOKE OR TRAINING METHOD TO TEACH ME HOW TO CONTROL MY EMOTIONS....." I shout into the phone catching the twins' attention.

"He got shot. He died an hour ago. I tried to save him. I did everything I could..... I-" his voice falls apart and tears run down my face.

"No. No. No. No." I feel something in my heart shatter as the realization hits me.

I'll never see him again. Ever. He was my best friend.

We fought a lot but at the end of the day we both loved each other.

The phone drops to the floor as I hyperventilate. Ace reached my sides in seconds as I cried loudly into his chest.

"Nooooo." He pulls me closer to him. Ashley rubs my back waiting for me to explain.

"What's wrong?" He pulls my body towards a seat, sits me on his lap and hugs my head to his chest.

"Roman....... He's gone" as I mumble the words Ace doesn't respond. Ashley freezes and sits down next to me.

"Gone as in..... gone.....dead?" Ashley mumbles it more to herself than us and I turn to her hugging her.

"I'm so sorry. I feel selfish crying when I know you two were very much closer. You were a family. You share a daughter" I cry as she just holds me. She nods her head but doesn't respond.

She just holds me and lets me cry until I pass out from it.

This can't be real. This has to be a dream.

Alicia's POV

I watch Octavia scream into the phone before she breaks down crying. Her cries are full of anger and pain.

There's another girl here. This is the first time I have ever seen Ace or his twin sister.

"Just another day of one of them being dramatic" Allison mumbles.

Gregory looks up from his magazine and Alicio reaches over, slapping her. Hard.

"What the fuck was that for?" She whines holding her cheek.

"I am so fucking sick of you. This is why no one likes you. You can't keep your damn mouth shut. What if that call was someone telling her that Allegra didn't make it?" He whispers in a low tone so the twins and octavia don't overhear.

"Well, congratulations. She finally achieved something before us." Allison mumbles.

"Allison shut up. Now" I scold sitting up. "You are so self centered and problematic. Then you expect people to care about you when shit hits the fan. If you EVER say something like that about my daughter again......" I stare at her and she just rolls her eyes.

"I'm your daughter. I'm the one you raised for eighteen years"

"Eighteen years and I still don't recognize you." I answer her back.

"You are a bottom feeder. You take what you can get and make no contributions." Alicio butts in and stretches while staring at the ceiling.

"What do you expect? I grew up with you giving Allegra, well, Aria more attention and we thought she was dead." She goes on practically spitting over her name.

How dare she call Allegra's real name with no respect. I spent days picking a name out for her, but due to us being on the run I gave her the name Allegra to use publicly.

Her last name came from one of her foster parents and that witch Sharon decided to keep it. Allegra Stone.

"I tried to compete with a dead girl. Then when you found out she was alive it got worse." Allison opens her mouth to say something else but the look Gregory gives her shuts her up.

Folding her arms over her chest she turns her body away from us.

She was always a drama queen.
