Chapter 35

Mr. Rossi's POV

Love causes unimaginable pain...... and that's exactly what Allegra is going through right now.

She finally experienced real, pure love and it was taken from her.

Roman and Leo's death did pain me. They both held a place in my heart.

I was sitting downstairs when we all heard the shouting. I stayed with Ace, Amelia and Ashley as the others rushed up. I heard the gunshots and knew a life had been lost.

Ace was the most on edge. I've never seen him pray but he did exactly that, praying for Allegra and Octavia's safety.

After an hour Alicio walks down and I notice the sleeves of his shirt wet.

"How is she doing?" I ask.

"I let her sit in the shower to let all the blood rinse off of her. She was quiet other than hearing her cry." He responds sitting down next to his mom.

"And how are you three doing?" I nod my head towards the family as Alicia leans into Gregory's hold.

"Of course we are hurt about losing a child..... but we know it had to be done. And knowing why it was done hurts the most" Gregory speaks up.

"If she just listened she wouldn't be dead right now and Leo would still be alive" Alicia mumbles and her son rubs her head softly comforting her.

"It'll get easier over time" Alicio mumbles and I see the pain in his eyes.

Noticing Vince looking over at me constantly I turn to him and wait.

"Spit it out Vince" I grab my cup of tea, sipping it softly.

"Allegra and Leo... They were really close and....." he pauses as Octavia turns quickly toward him.

"You want to know how close?" I finish for him and he nods. The whole room is quiet and looking toward me.

"That's none of anyone's business but hers" Ace speaks up.

I pull out a small box from my pocket and call over Octavia.

She sits in front of me as I hand her the box.

"Leo planned to give this to her two months from now after everything blew over" I whisper quietly and as she opens it she gasps, closing it back quickly and stuffing it back in my hands.

"No" she states.

"It should be you who gives it to her" I mumble leaning back.

"No. I can't. That....that will shatter every piece of her heart that still remains." She detests and I watch Vince staring at us.

"What are you two talking about?" Vince gets nosy and strides over.

"You wanted to know how close they were? Well, he was going to propose to her" I state plainly.

I catch Vince rolling his eyes and Octavia completely snaps.

"You are so insensitive. Someone Allegra loves just died and all you can think about is how you want her. Are you jealous? Because I can't imagine you being jealous over a dead guy." She stares and I see the guilt all over his face.

"I told you once and I'll tell you again, get over your sick obsession with Allegra. You will only break her. Do you even like her? Or do you just want to get your dick wet?" Octavia goes on and Ashley stands up quickly.

"Both of you stop." She looks towards me pointing at the small velvet box. "I'll give it to her when the time is appropriate" I hand her the box and she picks up Amelia from the chair.

"Vince, get over yourself and care for someone who is not you. Roman did it, Allegra did it, Ace did it, Octavia did it....... But you don't understand the concept of pure hearted love. You never deserved her. You don't even deserve me talking to you after what you did to me." A deathly silence passes through the room and Ashley walks away carrying her daughter with her.

Octavia shakes her head leaving as Ace follows a few seconds after mumbling something to Vince.

I guess all good things must come to an end.
