And Then They Died

Chapter 41

Allegra's POV

I wake up spotting Ace in the corner fidgeting with his hands. It's the next morning and I slide out of bed remembering I passed out from crying.

"I have to pee," I mumble.

Ace pulls two tests from his pocket and hands them to me as I go into the bathroom.

My heart races as I pee on the sticks.

I lay them on the counter and we both waited five minutes in impatience .

"Ok it's been five minutes" Ace reaches his hand out to grab it and I slap his hand down quickly grabbing it before him.

My eyes go over the two positive signs before handing them off to him.

"What are you going to do?" He looks down at the test before looking back up. I shrug before sitting down on the bed.

*** TIME SKIP NINE MONTHS LATER***

Eight years ago, if someone told me this was going to be my life I would've died from laughter.

I have reread Roman's letter and decided to go on his treasure hunt.

"I left you a present at the place where the original six started. In that exact spot dig below. Yes, I'm sending you on a treasure hunt."

That's what he had wrote.

I had gone under the large oak tree we carved our names into and started to dig right below it.

I had pulled up a wooden box full of pictures and flash drives. Going through each one I had realized that it was memories we all made together. There were some pictures of me sleeping, other videos of us celebrating Christmas. Some videos of me training. It was like he documented all the happy parts of our life.

And for the first time in a while, I smiled.

My dad died five months ago from brain cancer.

My mom passed away last month. I guess she couldn't take the grief of losing a husband and daughter in the same year.

Mr. Rossi had been less present and eventually he left to live somewhere else. Ace, Ashley, Alicio, Amelia and I had moved to Bora Bora to live.

Now I'm in labor trying to give birth to a baby. Two of them. We had twins. He gave me a beautiful baby girl and boy.

The labor lasted for a whole five hours and trust me, there was a lot of screaming. But when I looked into their eyes for the first time I was overwhelmed with joy.

I promised right then and there that these kids would be the center of my life.

"I'll name the girl Lilah Arianna Neville and the boy Leo Emilio Neville." I had told the doctors.

I promise that I will give you both the best life imaginable.

So on November 18th 2044, my babies were born. I will love them forever.
