Chapter 38

Ace's POV

The rest of the week is hard. No one is talking to each other and I haven't seen Vince in the last five days.

Today we are making our last mission to achieve world domination. The world has gone wild over the assassination of the American President and his daughter.

We have bombed multiple compounds and government buildings and basically disrupted their leadership beyond repair.

Everyone is quiet as we gear up for the mission. Our last one. Destroying the Pentagon.

Mr. Rossi, Gregory, Alicia, Alicio and Ashley are staying here with Amelia and Allegra, Vince, Octavia and I are going to complete the mission.

I talked with each of them and warned them to communicate. Otherwise the plan will fail. They all agreed but I guess we just have to see how it goes.

Going through underground tunnels we walk six miles to get to the Pentagon and no one dared speak a word.

As soon as we reach the entrance Allegra stops us.

"Via, take this flashdrive, plug it into the network and the virus will automatically erase years of information and research and send it to our private network. Ace you go with her. Vince and I will take out security." She hands her the flashdrive and everyone nods as we go in.

"Ace." Octavia pulls me back as they leave.

"Yes?"

"I love you and I don't think I say it enough"

"I-" she cuts me off as she presses her lips to mine and I kiss her back.

"I love you more than anything" I whisper back before pulling away and entering the building.

We had snuck into the large server room. It takes about twenty minutes to even find where the flash drive is supposed to go. After I stuck it in we hear a loud beep that we both are sure set off many alarms.

"Hurry up" Octavia whispers as I patiently wait for all the files to finish deleting.

"Because I control how fast this thing goes right?" I mumble back and we both quiet down hearing a door open.

She kisses my cheek quickly before pulling out her gun and starts walking toward where the noise came from.

My heart beat picks up as I motion for her to come back but she doesn't. She keeps going further and further.

"Mentally cursing at her I wait a few seconds for the data to finish deleting before quietly running after her.

She is so stubborn. We literally just agreed to stick together. I watch her walk quickly down an aisle and from where I'm standing I can see men with guns heading straight for her.

Fuck. Why doesn't she ever listen?

Hidimg behind one of the large servers i wait till I have a clear shot at the men. The only clear shot I have is going to be after they see Octavia so I have to be quick.

Slowing my breath and calming myself I lift up my gun and aim waiting for the exact moment to pull the trigger. Releasing the air from my lungs I bend my index finger around the trigger killing the first man exactly when he sees her. I then pull it two more times killing the last two men before running to Octavia.

"Next time... Listen to me" I tell her before pulling her out of the room and successfully getting back into the tunnels.

"Sorry" she mumbled while looking to the floor.

"It's ok. Just don't do anything like that again. I don't know what I would do if I lost you." Looking into her eyes I watched as she looks down to my lips.

"You won't lose me...." She whispered leaning up to my pecking my lips gently.

The butterflies in my stomach swing in full force and I smile a little pulling her closer.

She leans her body against mine as we embrace each other in a hug while waiting for Vince and Allegra to show up. They have been taking long and they turned their comms off after a while.

Ace and Octavia are so cute. ;)

How do you all feel about their plan? Is it even worth it?
