Roman's POV

Vince and I have infiltrated the compound that has my daughter. The only problem now is getting to her. We have to pass five checkpoints to get there. Each one of them has tight security.

"Wanna wing this?" Vince smirks at me, bending down to tie his laces.

"What? What do you mean?" I look down at him as I realize he actually untied his laces and took the strings dangling them in my face.

Turning me around he tied my wrists together.

"I'll turn you in and when we get close enough, break the ties, get your daughter and run. I'll just claim that I captured the Russian mafia's second in command." I laugh quietly as Vince takes my gun and stuffs it in his pants.

"You knew?" I questioned. I never told Vince about my ties to the mafia.

"No way you made a deal with the Russians without getting something valuable out of it, so I just did some snooping and realized you got weapons, status and loyalty and in return they got protection and money." Vince admits and I nod.

He then pushes me down the hall shouting for help as I struggle against him.

"Hey I captured an intruder." He shouts at one of the guards. The guard nods, sending us through the first checkpoint.

"Is that an intruder? Who is he?" Another guard asks, standing in the way of the second checkpoint.

"I caught ourselves a Russian. The second in command in their mafia, intruding on the property." The guard laughs at Vince's words and punches me in the stomach.

I groan, lifting my head to stare at him.

"YA sobirayus' poveselit'sya s toboy, milyy mal'chik", the man speaks to me. (I'm going to have some fun with you pretty boy)

He grabs my hair pulling it up roughly before staring at Vince.

"Take him to the boss at the fifth checkpoint." He turns around grabbing his walkie-talkie. "We have a prisoner. Let them in straight through till they reach the last checkpoint." He orders and the doors open automatically.

We walk straight through getting a lot of stares until we pass a room with a clear glass door.

Looking through I see Amelia on the floor playing with dolls as a woman in a skirt and blazer watches her in the corner.

"Straight this way" another guard orders, pointing to the opposite hall.

Vince noticed my reaction to the girl and stared at her before pushing me forward. As soon as I get closer to the man I break the ties punching him in the face.

"Vince, get Amelia and run. I'll meet you outside." I shout at him as the man gets back up.

Vince then tosses me my gun.

Aiming at the mans face I pull the trigger and watch as more guards fill the hall.

I look over at the mans lifeless body and grab the Ak-47 he had slung over his chest aiming down the hall and firing at all the men.

"Roman I have her, let's go." I hear Vince's voice and I turn around running in the direction of it.

I watch my daughter's face over his shoulder. Her face is red and she is crying so much.

As soon as she opens her eyes she reaches her little arms to me.

"Daddyyyyyyy" she screams and I pull her from Vince's arms while handing him the AK.

"Hi baby, just close your eyes ok. You're safe. Daddy's got you ok?" She nods her head slowly and wraps her arms around my neck. I feel her back shaking as she is still crying.

"Amelia, please stop crying, everything is going to be fine." I rub her back while running to the exit.

"I want mommy" she starts to cry even more at the sound of the gunshots so I hum a soft song in her ear until she calms down.

"Rome your left" I hear Vince shout and everything is in slow motion.

The guard aiming his gun at Amelia and him pulling the trigger put me in action. Taking a bullet to the shoulder for her I cover her body with mines shielding her as she starts to cry again.

Vince then kills the man helping me up and apologizing for not seeing him.

"Are you ok?" He mumbles as he pulls me toward the door that leads us to our getaway van.

Running towards it the pain from the bullet finally processes in my brain.

This hurts like shit.

"Vince, wait, I need you to hold her," I mumble loud enough for him to hear.

"Roman we are 20 feet away keep running" he shouts back opening the van door.

I reach the van panting more than I usually do.

"Vince, hold her" he takes her from my arms and places her in the large seat at the back of the van.

What's happening to me? Why is everything so dark and spinning?

"Something's wrong," I whisper as he pulls me into the truck, closing the door as our men speed off.

"Rome, what's going on with you?" I hear his voice but it's so low.

It's like he is talking underwater.

It feels like I'm underwater.

I collapse to the floor gasping for air as I feel my shirt being ripped apart and I hear Amelia crying again.

Amelia.

My sweet baby girl.

Please forgive me for letting you see all of this at a young age. Trust me. I tried.

I don't care if I die, I just want you to be alright. I want you and your mother to be safe.

I want Allegra to live. I want everyone to be safe.

My family, the original six. I hope they know how much I love them.

Then I feel nothing.

Y'all I cried writing this chapter. Imagine watching your dad get hurt at two years old and you have no idea what's going on?

But anyway I love Rome :( I hate to see him hurt.
