Chapter 33

Leo's POV

It's around 8:00pm when Allegra wakes up. She tries to sit up but groans in pain.

"Stop, rest. Anything you want I'll get for you. I'll be your personal servant" I smile at her as she holds out her hand.

Vince arrived two hours ago and her family thirty minutes ago. I don't know how to break the news that Roman is dead.

That smile on her face is so beautiful and I would hate to see her cry.

"What's wrong?" She notices the fake smile on my face and I sigh.

I could never truly hide something from her can I?

"It's Roman.......he didn't um. He didn't make it. He got shot" I broke the news to her and she was deep in thought. Her smile fades and she turns her body away from me.

"Allegra.... Say something." She turns back towards me and sighs.

"Can you bring me a laptop. I have work to do." Her face looks oddly calm, but her eyes? They are full of hurt and anger.

I nod my head leaving the room and bringing her back a new laptop and a bottle of water. I watch as she sits up and folds her legs criss crossed.

She folds her legs......

She just moved her legs.

"Do that again?" I mumble as she raises an eyebrow.

"Do what?" She moves her legs again then follows my gaze to her legs.

"Oh my God..... I'm not paralyzed. I can move them" she starts to laugh and leans over to hug me.

Her smile didn't reach her eyes but she still smiled.

I kiss her forehead before handing her some pain killers and the emergency contraceptive I promised.

She whispers a small thank you before swallowing it and she starts typing away at her computer.

Too fast for it to be regular work. She's probably hacking something again.

Over the next week her family visits her for hours everyday and they have gotten closer. Except Allison of course. She keeps to herself and gives me this weird look every time she passes me.

The week has been rough due to Roman's absence. Everyone smiles and laughs but anyone with eyes can see that it's fake.

I take care of Amelia most of the time because everyone else is busy mourning, especially Ashley. She took it the worst and I don't blame her. She just lost her baby's father and someone she trusted with her life.

I don't know what I would do if I lost Allegra.

Everything is quiet and we have made no moves to attack the government or Sharon. Other than the fact that Vince and Allegra hacked their system to bomb the compound that held Amelia. There were no survivors and it was all over the news.

It was a big terrorist attack and the president made no comment on it.

They deserved it though, you never go after someone's child, ever.

Allegra has been walking around more and her back is just sore most of the time. It looks like she will make a full recovery.
