Christian McClennan. Cool. Fun. Great baseball player. Fearless. She fits right in with the sandlot boys--except for one thing. She's Alan "Yeah-Yeah" McClennan's twin sister. But she doesn't hide in his shadow. No way! She made herself an identity. Oh, and she has a thing for one of her brother's friends. What will happen during this summer when she meets her best friend?

Alaska's POV
I woke up to the bright sunlight seeping through my curtains. I laid in bed wondering if it was worth getting up to pee. When I finally decided it was, I staggered carefully to the bathroom. Then I got ready and threw some clothes on: http://www.polyvore.com/m/set?.embedder=13894611&.svc=copypaste&id=152396457

"Be back later Mom!" I called as I ran down the stairs and out the door. I jumped off my porch and ran right into a kid in a black hat he wore backwards, brown hair, blue eyes, real big black glasses, and a sprinkle of freckles across his nose. He was walking with a girl who wore a Yankees hat, a jeans jacket, some worn out jeans, a white tank tucked into her pants, and some black and white worn-out All-Star Converse. She had blue eyes as well, but she had blonde hair.
Anyway, I ran right into the boy and accidentally dropped my bat when I fell on my butt. "Sorry man," I apologized.
"It's okay. You're hot, but you're not Wendy Peffercorn , he said, sticking his hand out to help me up.
"Thanks, I guess," I said awkwardly taking his hand and jumping up.
The girl handed me my bat. "Christian McClennan. That's Michael Palledorous, but you can call him-"
"Squints," 'Squints' interrupted Christian.
"Alaska Adiego, arrived from Bronx, NY. Yeah, yeah, 'But you're from New York and you like the Oakland Athlectics?!' save it."
"You play baseball?" Squints asked. I nodded in response and the girl whispered in his ear. She was shorter than him, and he was short! But why am I talking? I'm just as tall as her. They whispered to each other a few more times and then they smiled at me.
"Follow us, okay? We're taking you somewhere to play some ball," Cristian told me.
"Okay," I agreed and followed them to an old rundown baseball diamond which looked like it was once nice. It was only a couple blocks away from my house. They hid me in some bushes and I saw eight boys playing ball.
"Wait here and be quiet," Squints told me.
