Kotaro and I began our long journey to Iga, and since we left the Village he hasn't said one word to me. I was beginning to think maybe I offended him in some kind of way. I could see about two hours has pasted and still nothing. I started to feel a little awkward and decided to just say anything to break the ice.
Aki: "So…naturally we could run into…"
Kotaro: "…."
Aki: (Nice job Aki! That was the smartest break the ice question ever!"
I watched him walk for a bit. He walked tall though this mountain terrain. I then remember how he keeps being so polite to me.
Aki: "Kotaro…you don't have to be so polite."
Kotaro: "It's how I am…"
Aki: "Oh…"
Kotaro: "…"
Aki: (Kotaro looks so much older than me…and so quite. What should I say to him?)
Kotaro looked over his should to me.
Kotaro: "Aki, you're the ninja princess."
Aki: "I know…I'm aware of my position and the responsibility that comes with it.
He stopped for a moment and looked into my eyes.
Kotaro: "You are a good princess."
I blushed lightly. Sudden my stomach growled loud enough for everyone to hear. I grabbed tummy, placed my hand behind my head, and giggled awkwardly.
Kotaro: "Are you hungry?"
Aki: "I'm sorry! I guess I forgot to eat this morning."
Kotaro: " No I'm sorry for not noticing. Shall we have a snack?"
Aki: "Ah! Yes please!"
I agreed as he pulled out a small package.
Kotaro opened the package and it looks like tofu.
Aki: "What is this?"
Kotaro: "It may look small, but it will give you enough energy for a whole day."
Aki: "Really?!"
Kotaro tries hands me a piece of it and I accidentally dropped it. I quickly bend down to pick it up and my thick head rammed right into Kotaro's head.
Kotaro: "Ouch!"
Aki: (I have to be the dumbest girl around!) "I'm so sorry! Everyone says I have a hard head!"
Kotaro: "…"
Kotaro back away from me and looks at me. He starts to turn beat red. I'm unsure if he is blushing or just embarrassed.
Kotaro: "Forgive me…Let's get going…"
Kotaro started to walk again. I watched for a moment as he was walking away from me. I started to feel like I've seen a different side of him I never saw before.
Hours have pasted and I'm exhausted, but every time I look up Kotaro is still walking so tall. Like he isn't tired at all!
Aki: "Ouch!"
I fell to the ground as Kotaro quickly turned around and jumped to my side.
Kotaro: "Are you alright?"
Aki: "I think I twisted my ankle…"
Kotaro pick me up and set me down onto a log nearby. He bent over to look at my feet.
Kotaro: "Hm…."
Aki: (He's sighing…I must be holding him back…)
Kotaro: "…I'm no good."
Aki: "What are you talking about? You're fine."
Kotaro: "I didn't pay attention to how the princess was feeling. I'm sorry."
Aki: "No Kotaro, please don't worry."
Kotaro: "…I do worry…"
Aki: (He cares…)
Kotaro: "Excuse me…"
Kotaro reaches and takes my foot in his hands. His face is so cold, but his hands are so…kind.
Kotaro: "Does this feel any better?"
Aki: "Ah! Yes! Much better. Since your rubbing my feet let me rub your feet for you!"
He stood up so quickly and looked away.
Kotaro: "…No thank you."
I sighed then began to wander if he didn't like me. Just then Kotaro covers me and hides in a nearby bushes.
Aki: "What the?!"
Kotaro covers my mouth with his hand.
Kotaro: "Be quite!"
He said angrily. Just then a group of samurai began to march towards our direction.
