Chapter Forty Seven - Grandpa's Blessing

After a long week of traveling with an overnight stay at a hot springs Kotaro and I were finally on the edge of the my home village boundaries when we bumped into Jen Jen, Saizo, and Sasuke.

Jen Jen: Aki!

Aki: Jen…

She pounced onto me before I could finish what I was going to say.

Jen Jen: Can you believe in only a few days were going to be married.

Saizo: Only after you get your approval.

Jen Jen: you know, you don’t always have to be a grouch.

Saizo: Well if were going to talk that way, I’m always here to slap reality in your face to you and your monkey side kick!

Sasuke: Don’t talk like that to my wife!

Saziso: Great, I’m going to be stuck with two monkeys that talk back!

I began to laugh. They had stopped bickering to look back to me.

Saizo: What is so funny?

I stopped to take a breath in from my laughter.

Aki: You three already act like one happy family!

Saizo: I take offence to that!

Sasuke: Ah Saizo! Let’s have some fun while we're here! Besides we have to go back home to plan a wedding!

Saizo: You mean a wedding I have to plan while you two lovebirds are off doing god knows what.

Sasuke: Haha relax Saizo!

Saizo didn’t respond to Sasuke. He had looked back over his shoulders as Kotaro looked back down the road as well.

Saizo: What is Hanzo doing here?

Kotaro’s face suddenly came over with worry. He looked away as he walked a bit ahead.

Jen Jen: Hanzo! Kuma! Lynn! What are you doing here?

Aki: Isn’t there plenty of work in Iga?

I asked as they came up to us on their horses.

Hanzo: There is always plenty of work in Iga, but I was messaged to come here by my father.

His father? Why would Hanzo’s father call him to my home town?

Aki: Well what ever the reason, I’m glad to see everyone!

Jen Jen: Why are you guys here?

Jen asks as she walked over to Kuma and Lynn.

Lynn: Were Hanzo’s body guards.

Kuma: Some assassines think while the ninjas have gone back to their home towns it would be easier to attack Hanzo.

Aki: That’s awful…

Hanzo: Don’t worry about it Aki.

Aki: I’ll try not to but your life is important to me.

As I said that Hanzo began to awkwardly blush. I smiled at him then turned around to see Kotaro looking back to me in almost shock. When I tired walking up to him he would walk a tad bit faster to get me out of his view. I began to worry why Kotaro didn’t want to look at me.

As we walked to the court yard I finally gathered the courage to talk to Kotaro before speaking to my grandpa.

Aki:...Kotaro…

Kotaro: What is the matter princess?
