Hanzo and the others were still in a meeting. I looked over to Jen Jen and she looked a bit up set. Kotaro lead me to a place where I could sit.
Hanzo: As everyone now knows Kotaro failed to assassinate Nobakatsu.
Aki: It wasn't his fault! The Hachisuka ninjas saved him.
Hanzo: I understand that princess, but Nobakatsu will come to attack Iga… and it seems their troops are heading here already.
Goemon: I have heard that Nobakatsu has a great deal of firearms. Lord Hanzo… Nobakatsu's aim isn't Iga…it's all ninja. He's aiming for our heads and the head of Aki.
Saizo: Basically, we have to move and bring Aki with us.
Jen Jen: Wouldn't be too dangerous for her to go? She isn't even trained in basic ninja technique.
Hanzo looked right at Saizo.
Saizo: Lord Hanzo, let us move to Koga.
Hanzo: To Koga…?

Goemon: Use Jen Jen as a decoy. I bought the same Kimono for Jen Jen and Aki. For a few days have Aki walk about with Jen Jen calling her Princess to throw off and Ninja spies from Nobakatsu. We will all have to do it as well to throw off the servants that are also on Nobakatsu side. We need to fool almost everyone thinking that Jen Jen is the Ninja Princess.
Silence fell in the room. No one said anything. I was beginning to think Jen Jen would hop over to Goemon and hurt him.
Hanzo: I Like It.
Jen Jen: WHAT?!
Hanzo: Jen Jen you have undergone Ninja training with Saizo and Sasuke. From what they have told me your very cunning ninja. Also you have known Aki almost her entire life. It wouldn't be hard for you to pretend to be her for a few weeks.
Jen Jen sighed heavily then she looked at Hanzo.
Jen Jen: If it is to protect Aki I will do anything.
Hanzo: Good luck! You have two weeks to copy her every movement. Kotaro, Goemon, Saizo, Sasuke and I will head for Koga. Jen Jen, Sasuke will come back for you right before the battle.
Jen Jen: Where will Aki be staying? Who will protect her?
Hanzo: I have a meeting with Munenori Yagyu. I will ask him to watch over Aki. Kuma will also say with her.
Jen Jen: Alright…
Hanzo: Goemon and Kotaro I need you to collect more information on Nobakatsu. Don't stays any longer than two weeks in Iga come to Koga ASAP!
Goemon: Yes Sir!
Kotaro: Yes Lord Hanzo…
Hanzo: Then this meeting has ended.
Hanzo and everyone else got up and left the room. Kotaro lead me to my room.
Kotaro: … I will continue to guard you until my leave to Koga. To do so I will have to sleep in the same room with you…anyways, you must be tired so…princess?!
I sat down next to Kotaro.
Kotaro: What's wrong?
Aki: Now that I feel safe, it's like I'm so exhausted all of a sudden.
Kotaro: That's because you have been working so hard.
Kotaro puts his hand on my shoulder.
Kotaro: I'll set up the futon for you.
Aki: No, you need to relax, Kotaro!
Kotaro: …well then…
Kotaro set up the futon's on opposite ends of the room.
Aki: Why are they so far apart?!
Kotaro: Well we don't need to pretend to be married anymore.
After he said that…it kind of hurt to hear that. I mean after everything that has happened. What we have been though.
Aki: Did you hate pretending to be married?
Kotaro: …
Aki: Was it hard to do all that for your job?
Kotaro: …
How can he just not say anything?
Aki: Are you only with me because it's your job?!
Kotaro: …
Aki: Answer me!
Kotaro stared at me with a blank stare. I was getting upset that he wasn't answering me.
Kotaro: Princess, I think that you are under a lot of stress.
Aki: What? Don't change the subject!
Kotaro: …
Kotaro then looks me in the eyes.
Kotaro: I…you…I am with you because it's my job.
Aki: …!
After what I felt on the river? Going out to town together!
Kotaro: …
This is the most embarrassing thing I have ever done!
Aki: Alright then…
Kotaro: …
Aki: I'm sorry for shouting. I'm going to sleep now.
I put the pillow over my head and stifled the sound of me crying. I can't let him know that I'm this sad…I can't… He's only with me because it's his job.
After many hours into the night I woke up to the sound of Hosuke.
Hosuke: Hoot…hoot…
Kotaro: Hosuke! Shut up!
I can hear Kotaro whispering to Hosuke.
Kotaro: …I think I made her cry again…I don't know how to make her smile, what should I do? I know…I don't have the right to get close to her.
What does he mean by that?
