Chapter Thirty Nine - Goemon's Ex

Narrated by Jen Jen 

I was washing dishes when a panic ninja ran into the kitchen. 

Ninja: Lord Hanzo! The princess and Kuma have been taken hostage! 

What? Was he telling the truth? I ran outside and saw the clean laundry Aki had just was laying on the ground. Hanzo ran to my side call everyone! We must get the princess back. I saw Kotaro bringing wood into the hideout.  

Jen Jen: Kotaro! Aki has been taken hostage! 

Kotaro's eyes got wide as he dropped the fire wood and an to his guns men. 

Kotaro: Ninja's grab your rifles and follow me! 

Ninjas: Yes sir! 

Sasuke: Jen Jen! 

Jen Jen: Sasuke! Aki she's been taken! 

Sasuke: I know! Goemon come on were going after her! 

Goemon: You don't have to tell me twice!

Goemon, Sasuke and I began to run after Kotaro and his guns man that left before us. Kotaro stopped as the other ninjas stopped as well. I looked ahead and there were piles of weapons lying around on the ground. 

Goemon: Kotaro take your men ahead, we've got this! 

Kotaro nodded and signaled his men to climb into the trees and by pass the piles of weapons. Goemon and Sasuke slowly walked forward.  

Jen Jen: What do you think it is? 

Sasuke: Not sure, no one would just leave weapons ling around like this. 

Goemon slowly walked up to a pile.  

Sasuke: It seems to be harmless... 

Goemon: Were not sure so don't touch anything... 

I walked passed a few piles and looked around they seemed to be in a circle. I then heard a click, and saw fuses leading to the piles. Sasuke and Goemon suddenly leap towards me! 

Goemon & Sasuke: Jen Jen! 

BOOM! 

BOOM! 

BOOM! 

One after the other the piles of weapons explode all around us. Sasuke and Goemon were using their bodies to cover up my own. When everything seems to calm down Goemon and Sasuke slowly let me go. Sasuke had a shruniken in his shoulder and Goemon a big splinter in his shoulder.  

Jen Jen: Are you two alright?! 

Sasuke sits up and pulls out the shruniken out from his shoulder. 

Sasuke: Yeah I'll be fine... 

I ripped my Kimono to dress his wound. 

Goemon: Awe man.... 

Jen Jen: Are you okay?!? 

Goemon: That is going to leave a ugly scar! 

I looked to Goemon Shoulder and it was bleeding just as bad as Sasuke's. Suddenly a voice pierced your ears. 

Voice: Ha ha ha! The great Goemon protecting another woman. 

Jen Jen: Who is that?!? Come out from the shadows. 

The shadow stepped forward and Goemon stood up quickly and got in front of me.  

Goemon: It's the woman that poisoned Kotaro.  

Jen Jen: Do you know who she is? 

Goemon: ...yes... 

Sasuke: Her name is Hana... 

Jen Jen: How do you know her name? 

Sasuke: Everyone knows Goemon gave his heart out once to another ninja named Hana, but she used him for information and left him to die. 

Jen Jen: That terrible! 

Hana: Oh dear Sasuke, you just know how to pick out the weakest ninja girls don't you? 

Sasuke: Mind your own business! 

Hana: HA Ha! I love it when your angry! 

Goemon: Leave them out of this...It's me you want. 

Hana: Well this trap was for Hanzo but I'd rather use it on you guys!  

Goemon: Here's your chance! One on One battle, the winner walks away while the other dies. 

Hana: Sounds good to me! 

Goemon lunges to Hana swinging his sword. She dodges his swings as she pulls out her sword. Goemon lifts his arm into the air. 

Goemon: Phoenix fire! 

Fire came out of Goemon hand towards Hana but she also raised her hand into the air. 

Hana: Water dragon's roar! 

Water swirled around her body and she pointed it towards Goemon fire and it flew from her body towards the fire. Steam and fog started to blind my vision of the fight. All I could her was the clinking of swords. My heart was pounding as I watched the blurry two fights. Suddenly the clinging of the swords stopped. A shadowy figure began to walk up to Sasuke and I. Sasuke wraps his arm around me. All of a sudden Goemon fell to his knees. 

Jen Jen: Goemon! 

Goemon: We need to go... 

Sasuke: Did you do it? 

Goemon looks to Sasuke with a straight face.  

Goemon: Yes... 

Goemon stands up and pulls Sasuke and I to our feet. 

Goemon: We need to get to Aki and Kotaro...
