Chapter Thirty One - Confession

The next day I was walking through the garden thinking to myself about what Kotaro said last night. "I can't give you want you want..." Were the words that scared my mind... 

Goemon: Hey Aki! 

I looked to him a bit shocked. He kinda snuck up on me. 

Goemon: Why are your eyes all red? 

Aki: No reason... 

Goemon: Did Kotaro do something to make you upset and cry? 

Aki: I couldn't sleep. 

Goemon: You're such a bad liar! 

I looked into his eyes as he looked into mine. He then pulled me into his arms and placed his for finger and thumb on my chin.  

Goemon: If I was him I would have been all over you all night long. 

I looked into Goemon eyes but then looked away and pulled myself away from him. Goemon and Kotaro are like night and day. The exact opposite of each other.  

Goemon smiled then looked to a purple flower. 

Goemon: So what do you think of that guy? 

Aki: Who? 

Goemon: Yagyu. Do you think we can trust him? 

I bent down to the purple flower Goemon was looking at. 

Aki: He helped keep me protected while everyone left to go fight, and he even showed me a thing or two with a sword. He makes a great ally, but I would never want him as an enemy. 

Goemon smiled. 

Goemon: Sounds about right. 

Aki: But Yagyu seems cautious! He even went as far as testing us in a dangerous way. He must really want to get at Nobunaga as well. 

Goemon: Hmmmm... 

Goemon looks me up and down. 

Goemon: You're not as dumb as I though... 

Aki: Goemon?! 

Goemon let out a hearty laugh. 

Goemon: I mean you look like a ditz, but you're using your head. 

Aki: I don't really look like a... 

Goemon: A ditz! 

Aki: Do I really?  

Goemon: It makes me want to... 

Goemon reaches out for me again. 

Aki: What are you doing? 

Goemon: What wrong with a hug?! 

Hanzo: Goemon! 

Goemon lets go of me and faces Hanzo. 

Goemon: Ah...Hanzo. 

Hanzo: I told you to not treat the princess that way. 

Goemon: Well she doesn't seem like a princess. 

Hanzo: Watch your mouth! 

Hanzo's is so mad his face is red. 

Goemon: Hanzo did you come here to lecture me? 

Hanzo: ...No. Yesterday we got word from the Negoro group. They want to form an alliance with us. 

Goemon: Really?! If we join forces with them we'll be unstoppable!
