It was Thursday, January 31st, 1991. Two sisters had roles in a Disney musical movie together called Newsies. The two sisters had two younger sisters. The four sisters were vastly different in their own unique ways, but quite similar in other ways. They were quite close, but they did occasionally fight like sisters do.
The oldest sister, Melanie Windsor, who had turned eighteen the previous December, had a fair face, mid-length light brown hair, blue eyes, and rosy cheeks. Melanie was an average young woman in intelligence and common sense. She wished for the finer things in life, but knew deep down that she may never get them. She was very motherly toward her three younger sisters, Victoria, Isabella, and Gianna, who didn't mind Melanie's intentions at times.
Victoria was the second oldest, having turned seventeen on January 15th. She had a fair face, never wore makeup unless she absolutely had to, had long dark brown hair that stops halfway down her back, and brown eyes. Victoria was a tomboy, but dressed girly if she needed to. For a seventeen year old, Victoria was extremely intelligent and an avid writer and reader. She had spent countless hours in the night reading books and plays, writing short stories and plays, and was working on a novel. She had a terrible temper and could be very stubborn at times.
Isabella was the third sister, being sixteen years old. She had a pale complexion, long brown hair, grayish blue eyes, and rosy cheeks. She was quite the musician, having learned the piano at a very young age. She was the quietest of her sisters, being very timid and shy. She was a homebody and quite satisfied with staying home instead of going to parties like the typical teenager.
Gianna was the youngest sister and the baby of the family at only fifteen years old. She had a fair face, long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and rosy cheeks. She wasn't fond of her nose and wished it were Grecian or at least somewhat smaller. She had a love of art, particularly for painting and drawing. She was a bit spoiled, could be a bit vain at times, and had a bit of a temper just like Victoria. She acted prim and proper and constantly scolded Victoria for acting like a tomboy.
Tonight, Melanie and Victoria were going to a party at a roller skating rink for the cast of Newsies since singing, dancing, and stunt rehearsals begin the next morning. Melanie and Victoria were getting ready in Victoria's room while Isabella and Gianna were sitting on Victoria's bed talking with them. Melanie was currently curling her hair and then planned on having Victoria curl the back because they were short on time.
"I don't think it's fair that other girls get lots of pretty clothes and jewelry and have a lot of money. And we have to be middle class," Gianna said with a sigh.
"At least we have Dad and Mama, and each other," Isabella said."We don't have Dad, and we won't have him until he's on his summer vacation whenever that is for him," Victoria said glumly.
"I wish I had a lot of money and a lavish mansion and never have to work another day in my life if I don't have to," Melanie said while handing the curling iron to Victoria.
"You could be a big actress in the movies," Victoria said.
"I don't want to be a big actress," Melanie said."Well, I have lots of wishes and dreams, but my favorite one is to be an artist and go to Paris and create gorgeous pictures and be the best painter in the world," Gianna said.
"What about you, Vic? You want to be a famous writer," Isabella asked.
"Yes, but it sounds so boorish when Gia says it," she answered.
