In which two sisters get cast in Newsies and go through the ups and downs of life wit...
A couple of years had gone by. It was Saturday, July 3rd, 1993. Melanie is now twenty twenty, Victoria is nineteen, Isabella is eighteen, and Gianna is sixteen and going to turn seventeen in the next month. Christian is now nineteen as well. Christian and the girls still managed to find time to hang out and spend time with each other over the past two years. Melanie and Michael are still together as well. Michael was over at the Windsor's house spending time with Melanie. Victoria was writing a story in her room while Michael and Melanie were talking in the living room. Isabella was playing the piano in the living room and Gianna was in the living room drawing as well. The girls were expecting their father to come home from another work trip any day now.
"Can you two just get married already? You've been together for like two years," Gianna said. "First of all, I want the moment to be perfect when I propose to Mel. Secondly, I want your dad to be here when I do," Michael said. "I guess that makes sense," Gianna said as she went back to drawing.
"Besides, you don't have to get married like six months after you and a guy become a couple. Relationships take time, Gia," Melanie said. "You're right," she said as she kept drawing.
"Should we order a pizza tonight? I mean, it'll be cheap, quick, and easy. Plus, I've been craving one for a few days. Do you guys think Chris would want to come over and hang out tonight too," Victoria asked while walking into the living room. "Yes, we should order a pizza, and I don't care. Invite him over. He's been busy learning his lines for his new movie and probably could use a bit of a distraction for a while," Isabella answered as she took a break from playing the piano. "Okay," Victoria said.
Then, Cassidy walked into the living room with a glum expression on her face.
"Girls, your father was in a car accident in Chicago. He has a broken back, his right arm is broken, and he'll need surgery on his back. I need to fly to Chicago tonight," Cassidy said while crying as Victoria headed upstairs. "Oh my gosh. He was supposed to come home soon," Melanie said as tears began falling down her cheeks.
"Is there anything I can do to help out," Michael asked. "Just stay by Mel's side and keep her and the girls' spirits up," Cassidy replied.
"I'll be back soon, Mama," Victoria said before quickly walking down the steps and out the door to go do something.
What no one noticed was that she had her hair up in a ponytail and was wearing the Yankees cap her dad had gotten her five years ago.
"I'll worry about her later. I need to pack for a few months," Cassidy said. "I'll help you pack, Mama," Isabella said as she got up. "Thank you, Bella," Cassidy said while she headed to her bedroom with the eighteen year old.
About two hours later, Cassidy was packed for her flight. She was curious about where Victoria had gone to. Then, there was a knock at the door.
"While I'm gone, Mel is in charge," Cassidy said. "Okay, Mama," Isabella said.
"Where's Vic? I need to leave soon. Someone get the door," Cassidy said.
"I'll get it," Gianna said before walking to the front door and opening it to see Christian. "Vic called me earlier and told me about your dad. I wanted to give you all some space before rushing over to see what I could help with," Christian said as he hugged Gianna. "Come in," Gianna said.
"Oh, hi, Christian. Make yourself comfortable. Vic should be back anytime now," Cassidy said. "Alright," he said as he sat down in a chair.
Then, Victoria walked in still wearing her Yankees cap.
"Mama, this for you so you can have some cash while you're in Chicago," Victoria said while handing Cassidy $40. "$40! How did you manage to get this much money when you were out," Cassidy asked. "I only sold and donated what was my own," Victoria answered as she took off her Yankees cap and revealed her dark brown hair that was now shoulder length.

"Your hair! Oh, Vic! How could you," Melanie asked in shock of the drastic thing her sister had done.
"Your one beauty," Gianna exclaimed before Melanie elbowed her.
"She doesn't look like old Vic anymore, but I kinda dig the style," Isabella said with a smile as she studied her older sister's hair a bit to get used to it.
"It doesn't affect anything, so don't cry girls," Victoria said.
"I think it suits you, Vic," Christian said.
"Me too," Michael said.
"Thanks, guys," Victoria said.
"Okay. I really have to get going now. Bye, girls," Cassidy said.
The four sisters said their goodbyes to their mother and Cassidy left. Then, Michael and Melanie left to go see a movie. Isabella and Gianna went to their separate rooms. It was just Victoria and Christian in the living room. The two of them were sitting on the sofa. Victoria couldn't help but hug Christian tightly as tears fell down her face.
"Chris, I'm really worried about my dad. He has to get through this. Don't you think he'll get through this," Victoria asked. "I'm positive he will get through this stronger than he ever was, Vic," he replied. "I hope so," she said.
Christian and Michael checked on the sisters constantly in the following months. They wouldn't believe what would happen that Christmas.
