It was the end of July in 1998. Isabella had taken a turn for the worse due to head trauma caused by her concussion and only had a few hours left. She had already said her goodbyes to everyone, except for Gianna and Christian since they were both still in Europe, and Victoria, who couldn't bear to go see her until Cassidy forced the twenty four year old to go see her.

"Hey, Vic," Isabella said weakly with a small smile.
"Oh, Bella. Please stay strong and keep fighting for me. I can't lose you. I just can't," she said as tears fell down her cheeks as she hugged her sister.
"I feel stronger with you close by," the twenty three year old said.
"I'm gonna get you better. I don't care how much it costs. I need you alive and well," Victoria said while wiping away her tears.

Isabella let out a soft sigh. She knew Victoria wouldn't handle this situation well, so she did her best to comfort her older sister.

"If it's my time to go, you cannot stop it. I don't mind. I was never like the rest of you...making plans about the great things I'd do. I never saw myself as anything much. Not a great writer like you," Isabella said.
"Oh, Bella. I'm not a great writer," Victoria said.
"But you will be. Oh, Vic, I've missed you so much. Why does everyone want to go away? I love being home, but I don't like being left behind or forgotten. Now, I am the one going ahead. I'm not afraid. I can be brave like you, but I know I'll be
homesick for you," she said calmly.
"Oh, Bella. No, I won't let you go," the twenty four year old said while beginning to cry again.
"Oh, Vic. Be my brave older sister that I know and love. I'll be with you again someday," the twenty three year old said before closing her eyes as she drew her last breath.

Victoria cried and hugged her younger sister's now lifeless body for the last time. She went to Cassidy and Peter to tell them the sad news.

A few hours later in France, Gianna was sitting at a Parisian café reading a book and drinking a coffee to distract herself from the grief she was experiencing after her parents had called her to tell her the news of Isabella's death. Then, a familiar young man sat across from her. It was Christian. He took the book from her, grabbed her right hand and squeezed her hand tightly.

"Christian, I-I assume you've heard the news," Gianna said as tears fell down her face.
"Mel called me and told me. I'm so sorry, Gia," he said while they both got up and hugged each other tightly.
"Bella was the best of us," she said.
"I know," Christian said.
"I'm not marrying Ryan. He proposed to me last night, and I turned him down. It didn't have to do with you or anything. It was my own decision. I decided I wanted to marry for love, and I wouldn't have married for love if I stuck with him. Plus, he is very boring. Have you ever noticed how he can go on and on about the most minuscule things," Gianna asked with a small laugh.
"I guess it's good that you turned him down then," Christian answered with a small smile.
"Let's get married someday," Gianna said.
"What," Christian asked.
"You heard me. Let's get married when the time is right for the both of us. And don't say I'm not thinking rationally because I'm grieving Bella's loss. I thought this through after I turned down Ryan. I realized that I've loved you forever, but the timing has always been wrong for us to get together. So why not now? You can propose when you think you're ready. So will you? Be my boyfriend," Gianna asked before Christian kissed her.
"Yes, I'll be your boyfriend, Gia. And I'll take you up on that proposal idea. I'll make sure to do it when you least expect it," Christian told her after they parted.
"We definitely need to go home soon. I'm sure everyone will want to see us soon," she said.
"You're right, but let's just enjoy the time we still have here in Paris," Christian said.

A few days later, Christian had proposed to Gianna, and she gladly said yes. And with that, they were finally truly happy, despite dealing with a tragedy.
