About a month had gone by. It was Saturday, May 18th, 1991. Melanie, Victoria, Isabella, and Gianna were hanging out in their backyard talking and drinking lemonade. Christian had walked out on his back porch and saw the girls having a good time with each other and wished to be included.

"Is it okay if I come over? Or will I just bother you girls," Christian asked as Melanie raised her eyebrow and gave him a look.
"You can come over. We would have asked you earlier, but we thought you wouldn't care to hear about girl problems or hear Gia go on about her flaws," Victoria answered.
"I don't mind hearing Gia complain. It's better than sitting around doing nothing on a Saturday, but if Mel doesn't want me, I'll leave you girls alone," Christian said.

"You can stay if you're able to keep the conversations interesting. You can't be boring here," Melanie said.
"Alright. I'm sure I can keep a conversation interesting without boring anyone to death," Christian said before he climbed up his backyard fence and jumped into the girls' backyard.

Christian then walked up to the back porch and sat in a chair next to Victoria. The five of them began talking and playing card games for a couple hours.

"Ha! I won," Victoria said.
"Okay, okay. I'll admit you won that round, but I'm still positive that you cheated two rounds ago," Christian said.

"You know, when we were younger, the four of us used to talk about our wildest dreams that we hope to have come true," Isabella said to change the subject.

"Wouldn't it be fun if all the dreams we have could come true and we could live them," Victoria asked.
"Well, yeah," Gianna replied.

"I have dozens of dreams that it would be hard to choose which one I'd want for myself," Christian said.
"You'd have to choose your favorite one. What is it," Melanie asked.
"I'll only tell mine if you tell yours," Christian answered.
"I will if the girls do too," Melanie said.

"We will. Now, tell us Chris," Victoria said.

"After living in England my whole life and now living in L.A., I'd like to find a nice girl, get married, have some kids, and stay in L.A. I'd be a famous actor and a ton of people will like the movies I do. My wife wouldn't have to work, unless she wants to. I'm never worrying about money, but I just enjoy myself and live life for what I like. That's my favorite dream," Christian said.
"You are already slowly starting to achieve the acting part of your dream," Isabella said.
"You're not wrong, Bella," Christian said.

"I guess I'll say mine. I want a nice, elegant, and large house with all kinds of luxuries: nice food, cute, yet stylish clothes, good furniture, kind people, and loads of money. I'm gonna be the owner and manage it as I like. I'll have a housekeeper and maybe a butler, so I never need to work, unless I choose to. That's my dream," Melanie said.
"Wouldn't you want a husband and a family in your dream," Christian asked slyly.
"I said 'kind people', Christian," Melanie replied.

"Why didn't you say that you'd want a kind, caring husband and some adorable children? You know your dream wouldn't be perfect without that," Victoria said.
"You'd have nothing but pens, pencils, paper, and novels in yours," Melanie said.
"Wouldn't I, though? I'd have rooms piled with books, and I'd write with a magic pen so that my works would be as famous as Christian's movies that he acts in. I want to do something wonderful before I go into my dream, something heroic that won't be forgotten after I'm dead. I don't know what, but I'm looking for a sign. I intend to blow you all away some day. I think I'll write books and get rich and famous. That would suit me. That's my favorite dream," Victoria said.

"Mine is to stay at home safe with Mama and Dad and help take care of the family," Isabella said.
"Don't you dream about anything else, Bella," Christian asked.
"Since I have my piano, I am perfectly happy. I only dream that we all stay well and stay together. Nothing else," she answered.

"I have lots of dreams, but my favorite one is to be an artist and study in Paris. I want to create fine pictures and be the best artist in the whole world," Gianna said.

"We're quite ambitious, wouldn't you say so? Well, all of us, except Bella, want to be rich and famous. I really wonder if any of us will ever get to achieve our dreams," Christian said as he took a sip of his lemonade.
"I've got the key to my dream, but if it can be unlocked can't be seen yet," Victoria said.
"I've got the key to mine, but I doubt my dream will ever be achieved," Christian said glumly with a sigh.

"I can achieve mine," Gianna said while twirling a colored pencil in her hand.

"I doubt I'll achieve mine," Melanie said.
"Yes, you will, Mel," Christian said.
"How," she asked.
"Your face," Christian replied.
"What do you mean," Melanie asked.
"Be patient and see if it doesn't bring you something worth having," Christian answered while hinting at the fact that he knows Michael has a thing for her.

"If we are ever together in ten years, let's see which of us managed to achieve our dreams or how much closer we are to them than now," Victoria said.

"Well, it'll be May of 2001. I'll be twenty eight then and will be turning twenty nine that December," Melanie said.

"You and I will be twenty seven, Chris. Bella, you'll be twenty six, and Gia, you'll be twenty five," Victoria said.
"I hope I'll have something to be proud of by then, but I'm lazy at times, Vic," he said.
"Mama always says people need a motive," she said.
"She's right," Christian said.

"Let's quit worrying about the future and start another game," Melanie said.
"Good idea, Mel," Gianna said.

The five of them started another card game and continued enjoying themselves. The five of them wished things could stay like this, but they knew being young and carefree doesn't last forever.

A/N: If you didn't figure it out while reading this chapter, I based this chapter on the thirteenth chapter of Little Women. I wanted to include it in the fanfic because all the film adaptations of Little Women didn't include it, and it's just one of my favorite chapters in the book.
