Two years had gone by. It was now June of 1998. Gianna was now twenty one and going to turn twenty two in two months. She was walking in Paris, France. She was walking to a café when she ran into a tall young man. She looked up and saw none other than her friend from her past, Christian Bale.

"Christian," Gianna said with a smile as she hugged him.
"Gia! You're so grown up," he said with a smile.
"I heard you were in Italy filming a movie from Mama," she said.
"Well, now that I've finished that movie, I decided to spend a month or two in Paris," Christian said.
"You promised you'd call me from time to time," Gianna said.
"Sorry. I've been busy for the past few years doing films here and there," Christian said.
"That's good," Gianna said.
"You've definitely grown more beautiful," Christian said.
"Don't. I liked you more when you were blunt and natural," Gianna said.
"I thought you liked that kind of thing," Christian said.
"No, I don't. I bet you're drinking and flirting your way across Paris," Gianna joked.
"Don't tell your mum," Christian said with a laugh.

There was a brief awkward silence.

"Are you chasing some young woman across France," Gianna asked while breaking the silence.
"No," Christian answered glumly.
"I'm...I couldn't believe Vic turned you down. I'm so sorry," Gianna said.
"Don't be, Gia. I'm not," Christian said.
"Hey. Come to this party my boyfriend, Ryan, who I'm sure you remember from years ago, is having at his home. It starts at 8:00 pm tomorrow night. Don't be late," Gianna said before giving Christian a piece of paper with her boyfriend's address.
"I promise I won't be late, Gia," Christian said before she walked away.

The next night, Gianna waited two hours for Christian to arrive. When Gianna finally saw Christian, she saw that he had a bit of trouble walking and had a girl on each arm.

"Christian," Gianna said as the two French girls walked away.
"Gia," he said.
"I waited two hours for you," she said after gagging at the heavy smell of alcohol on his breath.
"I feel caught," Christian said as Gianna began walking away. "Gia, please!"

Christian went after Gianna.

"Do you want to know what I honestly think of you," the twenty one year old asked as she turned around to face Christian.
"What do you honestly think of me," Christian asked.
"Well, I hate you," Gianna replied angrily.
"Why do you hate me," Christian asked while almost laughing.

Gianna let out a deep sigh. She was getting annoyed with Christian.

"Because with every chance you get for being good, useful, and happy, you are faulty, lazy, and miserable," Gianna answered.
"Oh, this is interesting," Christian said.
"Selfish people do like to talk about themselves," Gianna said.
"Am I selfish," Christian asked.
"Yes, very selfish with your money, talent, beauty, and health," Gianna replied.
"Beauty," Christian asked.
"You like hearing that, don't you? With all those good things to enjoy, you can find nothing to do except waste time," Gianna answered bluntly.

Christian then drunkenly put his hands over Gianna's.

"I'll be good for you, saint Gia! I'll be good," Christian said in a mocking tone.
"Aren't you ashamed of a hand like that," she asked while moving her hand away from his.
"No, I'm not," Christian replied.
"It looks like it's never done a day of work in its life. And that ring looks ridiculous," Gianna said as she referred to a ring on his pinky finger that Victoria had given him years ago.
"Vic gave me this ring," Christian said.
"I feel sorry for you, Christian. I really do. I just wish you would put up with it better," Gianna said.
"You don't have to feel sorry for me, Gia. You'll feel the same one day," he said.
"No, I'd be respected if I couldn't be loved," she said bluntly.
"And what work have you done lately, oh great 'artiste'? Or have you been imagining how you would spend Ryan Sanders' money? Ryan Sanders, everyone," Christian exclaimed drunkenly before leaving.

All eyes were on Gianna and Ryan. Gianna didn't know what to say or do. She had never been embarrassed like that before, especially by Christian.

"Ryan, I...I'm so sorry. I never expected him to show up late or show up drunk for that matter. I'm truly sorry," Gianna said as everyone went back to partying.
"It's okay. People do stupid things sometimes," he said.
"Are you implying that I was stupid for inviting him," Gianna asked.
"No, of course not! He was stupid to show up late and drunk," Ryan answered.

Meanwhile in Los Angeles, Isabella was driving home when another car hit her. She was quickly taken to the hospital and had a broken arm and leg and a concussion. Cassidy and Peter were in the hospital and figured that they should call Victoria and Gianna to let them know what happened.

In New York, Victoria was hanging out with David in her apartment.

"I'll never forget that horror movie spoof Michael did when we did Newsies. I've brought it up from time to time just to tease him," Victoria said with a laugh.
"That's awesome," David said with a laugh as the phone began to ring.

Then, Victoria got up and answered the phone.

"Hello," Victoria said.
"Hey, Vic. It's me. Bella was in an car accident. She has a broken arm and leg and a concussion. You don't have to come home if you don't want to. I understand that you're enjoying your time in New York City," Cassidy said.
"I'll come home as soon as I can. Family is always there for family," she said.
"I'll see you soon, Vic," Cassidy said.
"Bye, Mama," the brunette said.
"Bye," Cassidy said.

After Cassidy called Victoria, the twenty four year old immediately began packing to head home to Los Angeles. Victoria told David that she was leaving to be with her family and then left for Los Angeles.
