A month had gone by. It was the middle of August in 1998. Gianna and Christian had arrived in Los Angeles in the morning and immediately headed to Gianna's childhood home. When they walked inside, they were stopped by Cassidy and Melanie.

"Gia! I'm so glad you're home. It's great to see you as well, Christian," Cassidy said with a smile as she hugged the young couple.
"Hi, Mama," she said.

"Hi," Christian said after he hugged Cassidy and then Melanie.

"Are the two of you together or something? Because the two of you haven't let go of each other's hand since you got here," Melanie said.
"Yeah, we are. We're engaged actually," Gianna said as Melanie and Michael's two year old twins, Nathan and Wendy, ran up to their mother.

"Mommy, who they," Nathan asked.
"That's your aunt Gia. She's my, your aunt Vic's, and your aunt Bella's, younger sister. That guy is my, your aunt Vic's, your aunt Bella's, and your aunt Gia's friend, Christian Bale. Christian is also your aunt Gia's fiancé," Melanie answered.
"Oh," the two year old said.

"I completely forgot that I had a niece and nephew! Come here you two. What are their names again, Mel," Gianna asked as she hugged the twins.
"Gia, their names are Nathan and Wendy," Melanie replied.

"Is Vic here and in her room," Christian asked.
"Yes," Cassidy answered.
"Good. I wanted to talk with her. One on one," Christian said.
"I'm sure she'll want to see you, Christian," Cassidy said.

Christian then headed upstairs to Victoria's room and found her asleep on her bed.

"Vic? Vic, wake up," Christian said.
"Christian! You're back," she said as she got up and hugged her old friend.
"I suppose you are glad to see me then," he said with a smile.
"I really am," Victoria said with a huge grin.
"Good. I was afraid you'd be mad. Well, I wanted to talk with you alone," Christian said.
"Oh, okay. Please sit. Make yourself comfortable," Victoria said as she sat down on her bed and Christian sat next to her.

There was a brief silence until Victoria cleared her throat.

"How's Gia? Did she bother you on the flight home from Paris with her preening," Victoria asked.
"Yes, but I love it," Christian replied with a small laugh.
"Where is she? Did she not come straight here," Victoria asked.
"Your mum and Mel have her downstairs, and there was no way of dragging my fiancé away from them," Christian answered.
"Your...your what," Victoria asked.
"Now I've done it! It was meant to be a surprise for you, Vic," Christian told her.
"You and...Gia," she said.
"It all happened very fast," Christian said.
"Are you...in love," Victoria asked.
"Yes, very much in love. Look. Vic, I want to say one thing and then we can put it away forever. I've always loved you, but the love I feel for Gia is different. You were right. We would have killed each other," Christian replied.
"Yes," she said with a sigh.
"I think it was supposed to be this way," Christian said.
"Oh, Chris," Victoria said.
"No one ever calls me that but you anymore," he said.
"What does Gia call you then," Victoria asked.
"Honey," Christian answered.
"That's so like her to give you that pet name," Victoria said.
"Can we...can we still be friends," Christian asked.
"Of course, Chris. Always," Victoria told him as she hugged him again.
"Do you want to go see Gia," Christian asked.
"Yeah," Victoria replied.

The two friends headed downstairs and Gianna immediately walked towards Victoria. The two sisters couldn't help but embrace.

"Christian told you," Gianna asked.
"Yes. Gia, I'm so happy for you. This is how it was supposed to be," Victoria answered.
"Oh, I'm so relieved. I couldn't call because it happened so quickly. I was really worried you'd be angry and upset," she said after sighing.
"No, I'm not angry or upset," Victoria said.
"You're not upset," Gianna asked.
"Life's too short to be upset at your sisters," Victoria told her younger sister as she began tearing up.
"I really miss her," Gianna said as she began tearing up.
"I know," Victoria said while hugging the twenty two year old.

"It's good to see three of my girls in the same room again," Peter said.
"Oh, quit being sappy, Dad," Victoria said as she wiped away her tears.

"If Bella were here, she would have told us to quit crying and be happy that she's in a better place now," Melanie said with a small laugh.
"You're not wrong, Mel," Gianna said with a smile.

"I really need to see the good in everything more like Bella did," Victoria said.
"I think we all could do that, Vic," Cassidy said.

The family was happy to be reunited, despite one member being missing. Victoria wouldn't believe who would come to visit her in the coming hours.
