In which two sisters get cast in Newsies and go through the ups and downs of life wit...
It was Saturday, May 20th, 1995. It was Melanie's and Michael's wedding day. Neither the bride nor the groom were anxious or having second thoughts. Victoria, though, felt as if she was losing her older sister and hated this new change. Isabella and Gianna were putting finishing touches on their makeup in one room while Victoria was helping Melanie put on her dress.

"It's hard for me to believe that I'm getting married in two hours," Melanie said. "Me either," Victoria said glumly after zipping up her older sister's dress. "Vic, what's wrong," Melanie asked as she turned around to face her sister. "Nothing. Honest," she lied. "Vic," Melanie said slightly sternly. "We can leave if you want to! We can leave as soon as possible," the twenty one year old said. "Huh," Melanie asked. "I can make money for us! I can write and sell stories. I'll do anything! I'll make a life for us, Mel," Victoria answered. "But Vic," she began before being cut off. "And you should be an actress! A real star on the stage or screen. Let's run away together, Mel," the twenty one year old told her. "I want to get married. I love Michael very much," the twenty two year old said.
There was a brief silence between Melanie and Victoria. Victoria was struggling to find the right words to say.
"You will be annoyed with him in about a month, and we'll always be interesting forever," Victoria said. "Vic, just because my dreams are different from yours doesn't mean that they're less important. I want a family and someone to grow old with, and I'm gonna do that with Michael. What's really bothering you," Melanie asked. "I just hate this change! I hate that you're leaving me," she replied. "Vic, I'm never leaving you. Think of it this way. Since I'm marrying Michael, you'll be gaining a brother. You know, you'll be next one day," Melanie said. "I'd rather be single and make my own way in the world," the twenty one year old said as she hugged her older sister and felt stray tears fall down her cheeks. "I can't believe childhood is over."
Melanie hugged Victoria tightly.
"Our youthful days were going to end one day or another. Now, we can look towards a bright and joyful adulthood," Melanie said. "I hope you're right," Victoria said. "Let's get back out there. I'm sure Bella, Gia, and Mama are worried about us," Melanie said.
The two sisters walked back into the room where their sisters and mother were.
"Oh, Mel. You look beautiful," Isabella said.
"I think you definitely need this," Gianna said before walking up to Melanie and putting a tiara on her head.
"You're getting married in ten minutes, Mel. How do you feel," Cassidy asked. "Ready for what lies ahead of me. I can't wait to be married," she answered.
About an hour had gone by. Michael and Melanie were finally married. Their ceremony was nice and Victoria got a bit teary eyed, even though she would never admit it to anyone. Michael, Melanie, Christian, the Windsor's, and the other wedding guests were at a venue where the reception was being held. After everyone had ate, Michael and Melanie had their first dance. Then, Christian gave his best man speech and Victoria gave her maid of honor speech. About ten minutes later, almost everyone was dancing.
"It's so exciting that Mel and Michael are married! Wouldn't you say so, Chris," Victoria asked as she danced with him. "Yeah, it is. I think I can see you go and get married next, Vic," he replied. "Yeah, right! I'd really like to see anyone try to win me over," she said with a laugh. "I would too," Christian said as a new song began. "Let's go talk to Bella and Gia," Victoria said as she dragged Christian to her younger sisters that were sitting at a table.
"Hey, guys," Isabella said with a smile. "Hi," Christian said with a small smile as he and Victoria sat down.
"Chris thinks I'll get married next. Can you imagine that," Victoria asked. "I mean, you might if you actually give a boy a chance and don't act so boyish all the time. Then, yeah. I can imagine that," Gianna answered bluntly.
"Don't be rude, Gia! Vic will find love and get married when the time is right," Isabella said. "If you say so," the eighteen year old said.
"I honestly don't think I'll ever get married. I don't mind being single," Victoria said. "You say that now, Vic, but I know you'll find the right guy some day," Melanie said while walking up to her sisters and Christian with Michael.
"Mel's right. You'll enjoy the idea of having a guy in love with you and being in love with that guy one day, Vic," Michael said. "But that day is certainly not today," she said.
The rest of the night was fun for everyone. Melanie and Michael couldn't have been happier to finally be married. Victoria couldn't imagine what would happen to her and Christian in the next month.
