Chapter 47

Any problem Amms", asked Manik.

"Nothing just wanted to have a talk with you after eating dinner" ,said Amms and rudely dismissed Manik from the room.

A bewildered Manik nodded and entered their room to see that Nandini was happily narrating everything to Aryaman on phone about Amms arrival.

Dinner was ready and Nandini went to call her Amms for eating.

The table was bustling with chats of Nandini and Amms was telling her journey stories.

After completing dinner Nandini went to attend a call from hospital leaving Manik with Amms in hall area.

Amms looking at Manik started saying that," you know beta Nandini was pre-mature baby .The delivery was a difficult one too.
Seriously somehow miracle happened and our  kanna blessed us with her presence.

We all took breath of relief seeing both Avni and nandu healthy.
Quickly she became everyone's dear.She is apple of our eyes.

When I got a call saying that my kanna is getting married I was so happy that too with Raj's son, you.
Your father literally grown up before my eyes just like my son.  And my worries became less. Before that I got another call from my daughter saying that her son got married without intimating her .

She cried in the call saying how her own brother (Nandini's father) betrayed her.
And this didn't stopped there again  recently I got another call from my daughter saying that Nandini's husband is roaming with another girl and sent me some pics."

Appalled Manik got up from the sofa shrieked saying  that ,"Amms no way I will do something. And I really don't know anything about the photos you are talking about".

"Manik let me complete my side of story", said Amms.

"I was little taken back by my daughter's allegations on you and decided to cut short my trip. Before coming here I called Madhyam and talked to him.He is happy there with his wife and said how my daughter indirectly insulting his wife(madhyam's wife). He said that he will come back here after couple of years again to settle here itself.

So I took the help of Madhyam to verify those photos and they are photoshopped".

Listening all this  Manik felt like a part of daily soap.

"Oh Godd Amms, all this happened regarding my life that to without my involvement" Manik expressed how he felt .

"Yes beta so much happened and now you don't have to worry I gave my daughter a good warning concerning this matter.From now she will maintain a good distance from you both said Amms".

Amms ,can I ask something, asked Manik

Why Nandini's aunt is not happy with our marriage and even her own son's marriage? asked Manik as this question is his mind from the time of his marriage actually before their marriage.

"What should I say...my daughter was so overly pampered by her father which resulted her getting everything she demanded even when they are out of our reach. She became so stubborn slowly .And she brought a man one day saying that she loves him, that's none another than her husband. One of the good thing she did in her life she chose  gem of a person.That man loved my daughter with her faults. After marriage everything was good,Madhyam was born after that my nandhu was born. We purchased a land at that time when Nandini was born.My husband made a farmhouse on the land and few years back the land value increased numerous times. Same time my daughter Sunitha's  husband faced huge losses in his business. We helped her to some extent but my husband joked saying that if Nandini marries madhyam ,they will never have any financial problems as the land's selling value is enough for living happily atleast 2 generations.
Next second she landed into vishwas home demanding him to promise her that Nandini will be only her daughter in law".

"No wayy...what did papa say then??"

"He straight away denied and scolded her for coming with something like that stupid.

For few years she was silent and all of us even forgot about that incident.But  3 years back she again came up with this thing and both Nandini and Madhyam straight away denied it.But she is really not habituated to take no as an answer. Every time whenever she got the chance she started asking about their alliance we thought it is best to avoid it. But I really never thought that she will be doing something like this. She made me question my upbringing . I'm so sorry Manik my daughter put such a allegation on you", saying that Amms was joining her hands infornt of Manik.

Startled Manik stopped her from doing this and said,"Amms what are you doing, please I'm just like Nandini to you.I know what sunitha aunty did was wrong but you are nowhere at fault.

Patting his head lovingly Amms left to her room.

Manik too got up and went to his room to see that Nandini sat in the balcony reading patients file.

Manik took a shower and settled beside Nandini.

Nandini kept the file aside and snuggled into Manik's arm.
Holding her in his arms Manik was continuously peckin her forehead.

Seeing his mishti in deep thoughts Manik nudged her lightly.

Maan when we have kids na , let's have a nice sleepovers here in this balcony.We will attach a screen here so that we watch movies,we will make tents like thing for sleeping,we will bring food up here.All night we can stargaze and say a lot of stories to our children.

Manik was quite amazed listening to his wife's future planning.

Not bad wifey...so how many kid's do you want? Asked Manik.

May be 2 , what about you? Nandini questioned Manik.

Even I'm ok with 2 children, but don't you think it's little odd how we are talking about kids but never done the activity for producing them,teased Manik.

Making a cute face like thinking something,Nandini replied," you are right Maan let's talk about it tomorrow I'm so tired now.Goodnight , sweet dreams hubby".

Nandini went inside leaving Manik who didn't expected this answerfrom her.
