Chapter 29

Riley's POV:

So Maya texted me to meet her after school on the basketball court where the guys used to play against each other when they're bored.

I go there and I can't see Maya.

Then I hear a ring. It's my phone. Maya is calling me. Where the hell is she?

"Yea? Where are you?" I ask her.

I hear whispering but can't understand what. It sounds like someone is with her "umm"

"Lucas wait a second. Riley?" I hear and turn around.

Farkle is coming my way with his phone in his hand. I guess he's talking to Lucas.

Wait a moment. Maya told me to come here and she's on the phone right now. Farkle came here and Lucas is on the phone.

"You tricked me!" I say through my phone.

"Riley! You two like each other. Just go for it!" She says and hangs up.

"I guess that was Maya on your phone" Farkle says.

"Yea. And I guess that was Lucas on yours"

"Yep. They're trying so hard" he chuckles.

"What do you mean?" I ask him.

"Lucas and Maya think that we like... each other"

"Oh.. umm yea" I say awkwardly.

We sit down on a bench and stay in silence for awhile.

Farkle gets a text and he looks at it. I could see that it was from Lucas.

His face expression looks nervous now. Oh okay.

"So um.. I was wondering if you.. so what I umm" he says nervously.

I put my hand on his shoulder "are you okay?" I chuckle a bit.

"What? Yea. So you know how Lucas and Maya think that we like each other?"

I nod.

"Yea well.. do we?" He asks.

I don't know what to say at first "I don't know about you but I.. umm like you"

His eyes light up and he says "I like you too"

We hug and he kisses my cheek.

"FINALLY" we hear and turn around.

Lucas and Maya are coming around the corner.

"You guys are happy now?" Farkle laughs.

"More than ever" Maya says.

Lucas pulls her close and smiles "you guys are welcome by the way"

Me and Farkle smile at each other and start holding hands"
