Chapter 302

Matt's POV: After making my way downstairs with Gabby, I smiled when I saw my mom sitting on the couch doing some knitting. "Wow, I didn't know you knit mom." My mom then turned to look at me and smiled. "I have been since I learned that you guys were having a baby. I am making some blankets for their cribs. I have been meaning to drop that one off. That's the one I made for your son." I then went to sit down on the couch with Gabby and smiled as I went to look at it. I went to open it and smiled when I saw that it had MJ on it. "Oh boy, that's perfect."

Gabby smiled as she went to wrap her arms around mine. "That one's adorable Nancy. Thank you. That one going to be Emily's?" She nodded and smiled as she went to show us the design she was using. "Yeah, I make the squares and then sew them together. I just needed to know the initials for her. I have been doing the center ones last. I am doing pink, grey and white for hers. You like the three blues for his?" I nodded and smiled when she asked. "Mom, this is beautiful. Thank you." I then went to get up and smiled as I went to hug her.

Getting up, my mom then came to hug me. "No problem, I just want to give something to my grandkids to know they are loved by their grandmother from the minute they are born." I smiled when she said that. "You know what the best part is mom?" She then looked at me. "No, what?" I then smiled at her. "This time, you get to help us bring the twins home. You get to meet them when they are little instead of when they are almost teenagers." My mom then looked at me when I said that and was shocked as she went to sit down. "Woah."

Gabby was confused when I said that. "What are you talking about Matt?" Going to sit with her on the sectional, I smiled as I wrapped my arm around her and felt her cuddle up to me. Putting my hand on her stomach, I looked down at her. "She wasn't around with Violet was born because you know..." Gabby nodded and realized what I meant before cuddling up to me more. "That is so true." I smiled when she said that before going to kiss her softly. "And we are going to be spending a lot of time together for the next 2 weeks mom."

My mom was confused when I said that. "Why?" I then smiled at her. "The house has been closed for the next 2 week after some people tested positive for COVID. We weren't there when it happened so we should be good." My mom nodded when I said that. "Good, I don't want you to catch it...I already have Christie who has it." I nodded and agreed with her when she said that. "That's why I told them that I was not working. I think I am going to renegotiate my contract and ask for a provision that says I can stop working while my wife is pregnant and a pandemic..."

Gabby smiled when I said that before going to grab my hand and rubbing it. "I would rather not think about that because that would mean there would be another pandemic sometime soon." I nodded when she said that before going to wrap my arm around her. I then went to grab her hand and went to play with her wedding band. "However, one thing that we are going to do when this is all over...I want to give you a real wedding on our next anniversary post-pandemic." Gabby smiled when I said that. "Honestly, I love that idea."

My mom however didn't understand what I meant by that. "What do you mean by 'real wedding' Matt?" I then sighed. "We got married in a courthouse wedding ceremony. I want her to have the nice ceremony, the nice dress and the whole works because she deserves it." I then went to kiss the side of Gabby's head before bending down and kissing Gabby's shoulder when I felt Gabby move her legs across my lap. Covering us up with the blanket we had behind us, I smiled while wrapping my arm around her waist and putting my hand on her leg, stroking it.

Gabby then looked up at me when I did that and smiled. "You have no idea how comfortable that is." I smiled and agreed with her as I felt her wrap her arms around my waist. Bending down to kiss her softly, I smiled at her and then leaned my forehead against hers. "Sorry if we are getting a little intimate mom...this pregnancy has made us get a lot closer." My mom smiled as she kept working on the blanket. "Honestly, it's fine guys. I get you have had a rough day. However, I am not making supper tonight." I then laughed. "Neither am I."

My mom was confused when I said that. "You expect me to..." I stopped her right when she said that. "No, of course not mom. I was just going to order something in. We've had a long 24 or 48 hours...we just need to have something simple." Gabby looked up at me when I said that and agreed with me. "I agree 100%." I smiled when she said that before going to kiss her forehead before leaning down and kissing her quickly. "Love you." Gabby smiled when I said and nodded as we just held each other close. That's when Louie walked over to me. "Daddy, juice?"

I nodded and smiled when he asked me that. "Of course buddy. C'mon, let's get you some juice." I then looked at Gabby and smiled at her. "Excuse me." She nodded and agreed, moving out of my lap so that I could get up and get Louie some juice in the kitchen.
