Chapter 318

Matt's POV: After making my way upstairs to me and Gabby's bedroom, I took a deep breath because this was going to be a hard conversation that I was about to have with Heather. I mean, she might be my half-sister. That would make things awkward since we kissed once. It felt wrong because of Andy but...maybe it was because she was my half-sister. Going to find her number, I was about to call her when Gabby came upstairs. Turning to look at her, I smiled. "Thought maybe you might need a little bit of support. This is going to be a hard conversation."

I nodded when she said that. "I am going to tell you something because this is going to come up...I actually kissed her once." Gabby looked at me when I said that and just laughed. "Sorry if that's a bit funny. I mean, you kissed your half-sister and went on a date." I nodded when she said that. "At least I didn't marry her because then I wouldn't have married you." Gabby smiled when I said that before coming to get in bed with me. Just laying there, she grabbed my hand and smiled at me. "I'm here to support you Matt. You aren't alone in this." I nodded and smiled.

Leaning over her, I went to kiss her softly and just smiled. "I love you. Now, I am going to call Heather." Gabby agreed and nodded when I said that before watching as I went to call Heather. "Put it on speakerphone." I agreed and nodded before doing just that when Heather answered her phone. "Hey Matt, or should I say Chief Casey...congratulations." I smiled and agreed with her. "Thanks Heather. But listen, I am calling for something personal. Uhm, I just found something out that sounds crazy but...do you by any chance know a Gregory Casey?"

Heather seemed to be completely shocked when I said that name. "Okay, how do you know about him? Nobody has ever talked about him...Matt, I assure you that what you heard about my dad is false. He never abused his son or his wife. He assured that to me before his mistress killed him." I then sighed when she said that and was shocked. "Heather, I need to tell you something that is going to change your life..." Heather was confused when I said that. "Okay, how's that?" I then sighed and grabbed Gabby's hand. "I can tell you that he did abuse his son and wife."

Heather then got mad. "Seriously, you are ridiculous Matt...how could you..." I then went to rip the band-aid off and told her. "Because Gregory Casey is my father, he abused me and my mom. Who at the time was his wife, Nancy Casey." Heather was seemingly shocked when I said that. "Wait, you mean...you're his son..." I sighed and agreed with her. "Sorry if I am mad that you didn't believe it but...I was a victim of our father's abuse. Shit, that sounds so weird. Our father." Heather then laughed when I said that. "Wow, so that means you're my half-brother."

I nodded when she said that. "And Andy was my brother-in-law...meaning Ben and Griffin are not just my godsons, they are also my half-nephews." Heather laughed when I said that and agreed. "So, wait...let me just get this straight. Our dad cheated on your mom with my mom, we are half-siblings and the abuse allegations against him are true." I nodded when she said that and teared up a bit. "Uhm, yeah. Wow, that's crazy..." I then looked at Gabby when she said that. "That's crazy. Oh my god...that means I am partially responsible for my brother-in-law's death."

Heather than sighed when I said that. "Matt, we didn't know at the time. But god, that is just crazy. Sorry but Andy told me about what you told him...and he always said that he thought you looked just like our boys. And to know that it's because you're their biological uncle...that's crazy." I nodded and agreed with her. "Listen, how about we get Severide in this call. I think he deserves to know this revelation as soon as possible. I mean, he was Andy's best friend." Heather agreed with me when I said that. "God, that means my brother is a Battalion Chief at Firehouse 51." I nodded and agreed with her. "And you have 4 new nieces and nephews. Oh, and 3 new half-siblings."

Heather was confused when I said that. "3?" I then laughed. "Me, my sister and my lost twin sister. My mom lost her during her pregnancy. I just found out." Heather was shocked when I said that. "I am so sorry Matt. And wow, 4 nieces and nephews. I know you are having twins, you adopted Louie...does your sibling have a kid?" I agreed. "Yeah, our sister Christie has a daughter Violet. Oh god, I still have to tell her. Listen, maybe we can get together tomorrow. And would it be awkward if you met my mom? I mean, I know she killed dad but..." Heather agreed with me.

"Honestly, since she was technically my step-mother...I have to meet her sometime." I laughed when she said that and nodded. "Listen, how about we tell Christie first? Or should I let my mom do that?" Heather then bit her lip and didn't know. "Listen, I am going to leave this with you but tomorrow...are you guys okay if me and the boys come over? I would love to spend some time with my new half-brother. And you can spend time with your half-nephews." Gabby then smiled as she looked at me. "Come over first thing. We'll make breakfast for everybody. And we will have a great day together." Heather laughed and agreed with me, ready to spend the day with us tomorrow. "Sure thing."
