Matt's POV:
After walking around and looking at some of the artwork they had up for auction during the fundraiser, I couldn't help but smile when I felt Gabby rub my back. "That one is a personal choice of mine. It's from a local painter in San Juan. He painted it the day the earthquake happened. That's what the sunset looked like that night." I smiled when she said that before wrapping my arm around her waist. "It's gorgeous. I mean, I would try and buy it but...my wife would kill me if I bought this expensive of a piece of art."

Gabby laughed when I said that and smiled. "You know, you really didn't have to do this right?" I nodded and agreed with her when she said that. "I know but, I wanted to. Sure...is it what I expected to be doing on my New Year's Eve, of course not. But, if there is a chance that I can meet my wife somewhere within 2 hour flight of Chicago...I am there." Gabby smiled when I said that and agreed with me. "And Puerto Rico?" I smiled when she said that because I was going to be going back to Puerto Rico with her in the New Year.

"You are going to have to talk to your group to get me a ticket. I am finally coming for a visit. I know I keep saying that I am going to come but now I mean it babe, I am coming for real." Gabby smiled when I said that before setting her wine down and going to hug me. "How long are you staying?" I smiled when she asked me that. "I have the first week of January off. I talked to Boden and told him that I wanted to spend time with you to start the New Year. I am committed to making us work and I know it's going to be hard."

Gabby smiled when I said that. "So that's why I haven't gotten an alert saying we are divorced. That's literally the only thing that would've stopped me from coming back to Chicago." I nodded when she said that. "Gabby, you are my wife and I am so proud of the work you are doing. Yes, is it hard being apart? Of course it is...but we are stronger than the long distance and we are going to figure out a way to make it work." Gabby smiled when I said that before bringing me close to her and kissing me softly. "Come dance with me."

I smiled when she said that and nodded. "You still working?" Gabby shook her head when I said that. "I told them that I was going to be done now that it's 9. I want to spend New Year's Eve with my husband, not working. And since we are going to be doing this long distance marriage stuff...we are not going to miss this opportunity to spend time together when we are in the same town. Or when my husband flew in unexpectedly on one of the busiest days of travel." I laughed and agreed. "I went to the hotel already okay?"

Gabby was shocked when I said that. "How did you figure out which hotel I was staying at?" That's when her boss walked over. "That's my doing Gabby. He asked. Oh and Matt, I already have you booked on the flight with Gabby on January 3rd. Spend the next couple days here. We were taking tomorrow off and we need an extra night to sleep off the hangover. Plus, this is New York City and I want to explore a bit too."

Gabby laughed when she said that. "Yeah, we do too." I smiled when she said that before watching her boss walk away. Looking at her. "I am just glad we are going to be together for a while." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that. That's when we heard a really nice, slow song start playing. "Come dance with me." I nodded while setting my drink down and making our way to the dance floor.

Gabby's POV:
Once me and Matt made our way to the dance floor, I smiled as he went to wrap his arm around me and grabbed my hand. Stepping close to him as I put my head on his chest, I smiled while listening to his heartbeat more than the music. "You know, you being here is really nice. It makes me feel normal. I mean, I love the work but...this fundraising isn't me." Matt smiled when I said that. "I don't know, you got some big bucks out of those sharks in Chicago." I nodded when he said that. "True. I think I got the mayor to donate even."

Matt smiled when I said that before going to turn his head. Looking down at me, he bent down to kiss me softly. "That's my girl." I smiled when he called me that and nodded. "You know, I have always been scared that you would sign those divorce papers." Matt sighed when I said that. "Honestly, I hate to say it but...in the past couple months, I have thought about it. But then I look at my wedding band and remember that it's a circle for a reason. It has no end. Even if we did get divorced, there would be no room for anybody else in my heart."

I sighed when he said that. "Matt, you know if I did come back...I would still want to try for a baby. Have you changed your mind on that?"
