I'm going to confront Lynn and apologize. I've tried before but she always pushes me away. Plus, I don't really have the balls to make her listen. I messed up. My relationship with Lynn isn't something I want to lose. But I know she's stubborn as hell, that's another reason why I've been giving her space.

I enter the shop and find her talking to Jeff. This time she wasn't going to get away from me. Without giving her a heads up that I was here, I creep up behind and tap her shoulder. Jeff knows what's been going on between us so he let us be.

She places a hand on her hip.

"What do you want?" Her tone is cold.

"To talk. I'm over this, and I'm sure you are too. Lynn what I said was stupid, I was mad. I shouldn't have taken out my stupid attitude on you."

She cracks a smile.

"I can't be mad at you. But if you ever say another thing like that again, your new name is hypocritical bitch."

I let out a sigh of relief before giving her a longing hug. She's probably the only normal thing that I have here now.

"I can live with that."

"One more week," Dev- Kyle says from beside me. Shit this gets annoying.

We're currently stocking up on shelves. I've been avoiding him for awhile now. I knew this record wouldn't last for long.

"Till what?"

"Your birthday," He chuckles. "Did you already forget?"

"Oh." I feel stupid.

"So what do you want? A pack of cigarettes and an ash tray?"

"I'd like to keep my brain cells, but thanks for the offer. I feel sorry for Devin's body, you're probably ruining it," I scoff.

"Actually no, he was a druggie before I could take over. The only difference between me and him is that he's rich."

"Whatever." I roll my eyes before noticing a customer walk in.

I walk over to welcome them, anything to keep me away from Kyle is a must. Jeff takes over as soon as they ask for a tattoo. I go behind the register and wait for my shift to end. I get anxious now that Kyle is here, it's so unnatural, yet completely normal of me.

Suddenly, the shop's phone begins to ring. It rarely does that. I answer it.

"You've reached Inked, this is Audrey. What can I do for you?"

"Hey Audrey," Tony.

"Why are you calling?" I lower my voice, trying not to show any surprise.

"You obviously aren't busy if you answered. So, how's work?" I can practically hear the smile in his voice.

"Good I guess. I'll talk to you later, okay?" I say as Lynn approaches me.

"You're no fun," He hangs up.

"What's up?" I ask her, placing the phone back in its place.

"Want to come with me to get some lunch?"

"Sure."

We explore the mall while eating our Subway sandwiches. My stupid lettuce keeps on falling out of the sandwich. Lynn laughs as I pick it up and throw another piece away. I'm glad I resolved things with her before my birthday. It wouldn't be fun without her.

"I'm gonna bring my girl to your party," She says confidently.

"So that's going well?"

"Very, I took your advice. She's really cool and I know you guys will get along. So, what do you want for your birthday?"
