The beach is possibly my favorite place to be. I feel like I'm in a whole new world when I step on the soft sand. The only bad part about it is the seagulls. Little savages. Other than that, it's an amazing place to be.
I'm super stoked that we're all here to enjoy it. I'm in the middle of opening meat packages soon to be grilled when the Issues guys pull up. I don't hate them, I just want to try and avoid any awkward situation between Tyler and I. Hannah couldn't have been by my side the whole night, anything could've happened. That's what scares me.
I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn to Lynn.
"You came!" I hug her.
"Of course I did. Why is it so fucking hot out?" She groans.
I shrug and we set up our towels right next to each other. Hannah's currently in the water with Oliver. I plan on going in soon, but for now I just want to relax. I sit on my towel, taking in the sun. A tan is exactly what I need right now.
"Your new boyfriend is headed this way," Lynn grins before laying down on her towel, putting her sun glasses on.
"Hey Audrey," Tyler greets. The tall surfboard he has blocks the sun from my eyes.
"Sup, you surf?"
"Not really, but it's fun trying. We have a few other boards. Do you wanna
join me?""Sure, why not?"
I get up and walk with him over to where the rest of the guys are, talking about some football game. Avoiding any conversation, I grab an extra board and side by side Tyler and I make it to the water. Once we're in deep enough, we hop on the boards.
"Nice out, huh?" He points out.
Starting a conversation off with the weather gives away that the rest of the conversation is going to be awkward.
"It's perfect. Okay, so now what?"
He laughs like it's super obvious.
"Wait for a wave. If you do get confused, just watch that guy surfing over there."
I look to where he points, to my surprise it's Danny, the one who hosts all of those bonfires Corey invites me to. I need to go to another one of those. Guy really knows how to throw a party.
"Got it."

I never realized how much work surfing can really be. When we exit the water I'm exhausted and drained. Good thing the O-M-A-M dudes went to grab stuff to barbecue. I need some food in my system.
I walk up to Michael Bohn who's currently working the grill. This guy is probably the most hilarious of them all. Maybe his personality and sarcasm is what I enjoy the most about him.
"Hey Michael," I greet. "What's on the menu today?"
"Not sure. The guys just threw a bunch of shit on here, but from what I can tell, we're having chicken, hot links, and burgers."
"Yummy!" Hannah comes up from behind me. "Hey Audrey, Danielle is looking for you, her and Vic just got here." She points them out to me and I walk over, nervous obviously.
After giving Vic a quick hug, I stop at Danielle. She smiles. "Let's go for a walk."
I hesitate, "Okay."
"Don't worry, I'm not going to murder you." She winks before dragging me away from the rest of the crowd.
Once we're a good distance away, she lets loose of my hand. "Last night was fun, huh? A shame Tony had to miss out."
