I finally got a new mattress with the help of my new paycheck. Covering my old one with a thin sheet didn't help me forget that Daryl's blood stain was lingering just underneath.

I took it to a junkyard and disposed it there. It made me all depressed again. Daryl was a big part of my life, practically a child. When I didn't have anyone, he was there.

I laid on the new mattress, already hating the drastic change. My head begins to pound. Guess I'll have to sleep this one off.

"You're back!" I smile, taking in his features. His brown eyes keep me locked there. I've never wanted somebody so bad.

"I thought I'd never see you again." He places my hair behind my ear.

"I went crazy without you," I sigh.

He smiles. "I don't think you went as crazy as I did, but I can't stay."

My smile faded, as did his. Was he going to do this to me again? No, I couldn't let him. He had to stay this time, or I could just go with him.

Before I could say anything, his eyes darkened to black. "I'm sorry," Was the last thing he said before stabbing me in the chest with that dagger.

I wake up, trying to catch my breath. I feel like I'm having a panic attack. My breathing is uneven, my head is spinning, and I feel terrified. Eventually, I get myself under control. It all felt so real.

My first instinct is to go to the police station and get what rightfully belongs to me, that dagger.

"Mr.Davis isn't here," The desk woman repeats.

"What about Officer Sharon? I need to see her."

"Listen Miss, you can't just come in here demanding to see officers. We all have jobs to do."

"I'm not leaving here until I see either Officer Davis, or Sharon. This is urgent."

She sighs before picking up her phone and dialing a few numbers. I wait patiently as the rings go on.

"Hello Sharon. I have Audrey Monroe here to see you. Apparently, it's very important... Yes, I explained that to her. She's not leaving until you come... Okay, I'll tell her."

I wait for her to pass on the message to me. She slowly throws away the gum she had been chewing. This lady must really hate her job, and I don't blame her. Having to deal with people with me all day? Boring.

"Have a seat, she'll be here in ten."

With that, I sit down as far as I can from the people who are actually here for criminal reasons. Just like the woman promised, Sharon came out in no time. I approach her before she could reach me.

"What'd you need?" She asks in a rushed way.

"My dagger, I want it back."

She sighs, "So you don't want to find out who did that to your dog? You're not scared anymore?"

"I never was," I reply confidently.

"You must be scared now," She tests. "Why else would you want it back?"

"It's mine," I nearly hesitate.

"Then this case is closed. I'll be right back with that, no note included, just in case. We might need that for later, won't we?"

I shrug, trying to hide the fact that I am a little spooked. After that horrible dream, I don't know what to do anymore. Coming down here was probably the worst option. She glances at me once more before heading off elsewhere. I let out a sigh of relief, before texting Lynn and Danielle to be at my house ASAP.
