Can we create something beautiful, and destroy it? I hum as I make myself two eggs and bacon. Daryl sits by my side, hoping a piece of food will fly off the pan.
Tony's presence hasn't been felt since last night and I'm starting to worry. I know he's left on a bad note before, but something doesn't feel right. He should be back by now.
After quickly eating, I get ready for work, and am on my way. It sucks Hannah isn't coming in today. It's definitely not going to be the same without her. The three of us are like a trio. I realized that while being on the beach with them yesterday. When we sat around the bonfire, Hannah and Lynn made sure Corey didn't make a move. Basically, they were the greatest cock blocks ever. We talked about the most random things, it was nice.
I park in the garage and make my way to the elevator. Thankfully, it works now. It opens, and there stands Corey. Hey, more deja vu. Except we haven't literally ran into each other.
"Hey," he greets.
"Sup," I walk in and once the doors shut, elevator music fills the silence.
"You're early," he points out.
"Well, Hannah's sick so she asked me to take her spot."
"Oh. So, how's your arm? You were throwing those balls- I mean football really far," he stutters.
How cute, he's getting nervous. Usually this situation would be vice-versa for me. Sometimes I get so shy that I can hardly think or get a whole sentence out. That was one of the first signs I had pretty bad anxiety.
"I'm sore, it was worth it though. I had a lot of fun. Thanks again for the invite." I truly mean it.
The elevator opens and together we walk out.
"So, who was that guy Danny was talking about?" He asks suddenly.
"Does it matter?" I question as we cross the street and into the mall.
He shrugs, "I love gossip."
"Well, I hate it."
After that he kept his mouth shut. Since the mall hadn't opened yet, we make it to the shop in no time. As soon as things are settled, we officially open for business. Lynn comes in almost right after.
"Your friends are here," she giggles.
"What friends?"
"I saw Vic and Jaime in the food court. You should go say hi."
"If they need me, they know where I'm at. God Lynn I'm trying to prove to them that I'm not some fangirl," I joke.
She shakes her head and turns her attention to a random customer who just entered. I check to see if there are any appointments for piercings today, nada. (nothing) Mine as well check inventory so I'm not super bored.
I grab a clipboard with a list of all the stuff we should have shipped in already. I go into the storage room, beginning to observe and check off all the things. Suddenly, a cool breeze flies past me. The door hadn't opened so I wait for Tony to reveal himself.
When he does, our bodies don't have room to breath. I drop the clipboard in shock and as I gasp, he takes the opportunity to kiss me, hard. Our lips move in sync, then he grasps my waist and backs me up into one of the shelves. Thankfully, nothing fell or we would've been caught right there.
It takes awhile to comprehend what emotions I'm going through, mostly lust, surprise, and not one feeling of disgust. His hands are rough yet gentle. Our lips part and I breath heavily.
"Did you miss me?" He smirks.
"Audrey!" Lynn calls.
He's gone and I fix myself before walking back out. Well that escalated quickly. Vic and Jaime stand there with welcoming smiles. I approach them, totally unaware of what they wanted to talk about.
"What's up?" Jaime asks.
Oh, nothing much, I just had a make out session with your dead friend.
"Nothing, how've you guys been?"
"Good," Vic answers. "Anyways, we wanted to ask if you've ever heard of Warped Tour?"
"Isn't it like a festival for bands?"
The only reason I do know this is because of Tony. Plus, he was on the same exact tour when the accident happened.
"Exactly!" Jaime claps. "Well recently, we had a meeting with the owner of Warped and we're having a small reunion. For Tony, of course. He'll be gone for five years next week Saturday."
Well this is news to me, but I guess I get why he'd keep it to himself.
"Wanna come?" Vic asks. "You can bring your friends. Three backstage passes, a ton of bands, and good food."
"Why are you guys doing this?" I ask probably a bit more rudely then I intend to. I never actually thought we were this close.
"You're our friend you knock." Jaime gives me a short side hug.
More friends. Usually, I could only juggle two or three at a time. It's not that I'm bad at making them, keeping them is more of the problem.
"So is that a yes or a no?" Vic questions.
"I'ts a hell yea."
>>>
I enter the house and can tell Tony is here. Daryl's barking excitingly from the living room. When I enter, I see Tony playing tug-o-war with him.
Once he sees me, he lets loose of the rope and walks over.
"What was that about earlier?" I bite my lip, looking up at him.
"That was bullshit the other day when I said that kiss meant nothing. You feel the same, that energy you give off gives it away. You like me, admit it."
I'm speechless to say the least, more because it's completely true. I've fallen for the unimaginable. I don't respond so he just goes on.
He smiles his famous smile, "So you're attending the reunion I hear."
"It's going to be weird."
"How?"
"Cause I can see, hear, and touch you. Nobody else can do that, to be honest I feel a little special."
"You are," he presses his lips against mine.
I can definitely get used to this.
