"So where are we heading out to?"
"We got a council meeting in Brooklyn tomorrow." Anastasia frowned, "I just don't know who's gonna watch over the rest of you guys."
"I'll do it!" Hyper immediately volunteered.
"No," Anastasia deadpanned.
"Ro, you up for it?" Books questioned.
Rowan shrugged.
"I'll do it."
"Perfect." Anastasia nodded.
"Alright, lights out!" Books called, making everyone groan but head to bed nonetheless.
Anastasia walked onto the fire escape, Books following.
"Hey." Anastasia nodded.
"Didja make up with Blondie?" Books grinned.
"Yeah..." Anastasia smiled softly. "It's good we're starting over, I think I used to kinda- you know..."
"No I don't know." Books laughed, even though he did have a feeling on what she was talking about. "We're best friends Stasia, not twins."
Anastasia tilted her head at Books, curious about the name change.
"Stasia?" She questioned.
"That's what they called you, ain't it." Books playfully nudged her. "I like it."
"I have too many aliases." Anastasia shook her head. "At the end of the day, I'm still Anastasia Redwood."
Books hummed. "Slip never suited you anyway. You're clumsy alright, but you always have a certain gracefulness to it. Like you planned on falling."
Anastasia stayed quiet.
"Anastasia and Slip are two different people." She paused. "Maybe- maybe they could merge to be the same person."
"That my friend, is up to you." Books smiled.
"You can call me Anastasia." Anastasia mumbled.
"Alright... Anastasia," Books smiled a dorky smile.
~~~~~~📰~~~~~~
"Surprised you know the path to Brooklyn so well." Books laughed.
"Used to come by here." Anastasia shrugged, smiling lightly. "A lot..."
"Redwood, how's it been?" Spot smiled his smug smirk, spitting in his hand and holding it out.
"Not too bad, you?" Anastasia mimicked and the two shook hands.
"Considering the last time we talked you revealed you are a girl, I'm still sane." Spot nodded. "Come along, the rest of 'em aren't here yet."
An awkward silence rested among the group as Spot (nOt sPor!) lead them threw the lodge and into the meeting room which consisted of crates as chairs and a ping pong table as the table. (Major CHB vibes rn) [spot is dionysus] (totally)
"So, this your second?" Spot crossed his arms, taking a seat.
"Yep." Anastasia slapped Books's back. "One of the best."
"I'll count on it." Spot (sPUD?!) [sPUD CONLON] jutted his chin out. "Hot Shot should be here any moment."
Just then the familiar pale brown-headed boy walked in quickly and quietly. [brown headed?] (iDk!)
"Hot Shot." Anastasia stood up. "It's been a while."
"Definitely." Hot Shot agreed, both spit-shaking.
"Hey, I'm Books." Books smiled warmly, spit-shaking with Hot Shot.
"Nice to meet ya." Hot Shot nodded.
"What now?" Anastasia crossed her arms, resting her feet atop of the ping pong table.
"First ya get your stinky feet off my table." Spot Conlon narrowed his eyes. "Second we wait."
Anastasia rolled her eyes, lowering her feet.
"Powerhouse boroughs," Spot muttered.
~~~~~~📰~~~~~~
"Choker, Arrow, Smalls, glad you could come." Spot Conlon barged into Brooklyn's 'meeting' room, the rest of the leaders and seconds following in tow.
"Conlon, Redwood." Arrow jutted his chin towards Anastasia and Spot.
"How's it goin Arrow? Smallzie?" Anastasia crossed her arms.
"Better when ya leave the strike!"
"Yeah yeah yeah." Spot grumbled.
"Yeah yeah yeah what?" Arrow mumbled.
"I don't know about this strike anymore! 'Hattan let one of their boys get taken to the refuge." Arrow snapped.
Anastasia narrowed her eyes. "We fought hard. Crutchie shouldn't have there, the bulls showed up. They proved they won't run unless necessary."
"They still ran." Arrow crossed his arms.
"You would've ran too!" Anastasia glared, and Spot pitched in too, both glaring down Arrow.
Tension filled the room.
"Choker." Anastasia broke the silence. "You're being awfully quiet."
"I'm listening, you should try it sometime." Anastasia clenched her fists.
"What does Queens think o' dis strike?" Arrow narrowed his eyes. "Or do ya not have an opinion. After all, what Spot says goes." A smug look crossed his face.
"I think that the strike is a great idea." Anastasia huffed. "But all of you over here are stubborn a**'s."
"Typical." Choker smirked. "Followin' da leader."
"I ain't followin' nobody." Anastasia growled, slamming her fist on the table. "And you'll make due to know that."
"I ain't scared of you Redwood." Choker snarled. "Neither of us are." He pointed to Arrow.
"Well maybe you should be." Anastasia glared at him angrily.
"Next time ya pull a stunt like this I'm calling a war." Choker glared at Spot.
Panic arose in her but she kept a calm demeanor on.
"Then so be it."
And with that, she walked out, Books following in tow, only hearing one thing before the door closed.
"Meeting dismissed."
