Chapter 11 - Just a cough...

Shuichi's POV:

It's the next day

Being in class with Akamatsu has been hard to do

Even if it was just one day...

But now I'm sitting down, drinking coffee in thought when Momota shook my shoulder

"Y'know Shuichi, I want you and Akamatsu to get back to normal as soon as possible, you have to talk to her!" He yelled to me, despite being right next to me

"I-I'm not ready....it's barely gonna be two days.." I answered, closing my eyes and taking another sip

"The sooner the better Shuichi!" He yelled once again, abusing my poor ears

"I want it to be back to normal too, but I'm just n-not ready!" I yelled but quieter then him, being careful to not alarm him

"Well, if you won't do it I will!" He hollered to me as he ran out of the door, not waiting for my response

"Momota-" I tried to yell after him but failed, and what did he mean by if you won't do it, I will!

Whatever he does, I hope it's not too serious and weird

I'll just have to be extra careful today, I need to watch both of our steps

I sighed as I finished my coffee then made my way to class

I walked in silently and sat down quickly, not drawing anyone's attention except a particular blonde

"Hey Saihara! What's up!" She asked with a smile as she pumped up her fists

"N-Nothing" I replied shortly

"Uh, okay.." her spirits seem to be brought down a little as she lowered her fists

Momota and Harukawa were kinda lost in conversation, well not really Harukawa but, you get my point

Instead of joining in their conversation, she looked down and just seemed to be doodling in a composition notebook

That's when suddenly something I don't think I should've seen happened

Kaito's POV

Its a fairly normal day, but I need to think of how to get my sidekick to say something to Akamatsu

My prayers were answered when Harumaki tapped my shoulder

"Momota, is it just me or have you noticed that Saihara seems to be weirder then usual towards Akamatsu, but not in a crush way..." she pointed out to me in a quiet voice

"So we agree they like eachother? Did Akamatsu confirm..?" I asked

"Not necessarily, although she denied it she was clearing sweating and stuttering when I pointed it out in our sleepover, and we both know that's unlike her, did something possibly happen with Saihara about her?" She said with a tiny bit worried expression

I knew My sidekick was worrying about nothing! But he has to do this himself..

"Let's just say he convinced himself that Akamatsu doesn't like him like that at all, and that she thinks he's "too shy for her"." I said using a parentheses expression

"..."

"Momota.." she continued "Please don't tell me, in all your idiocy that you listened in our conversation at the sleepover.." she got straight to the point with a stern expression

"Well....." I felt a sweat roll down my cheekbone "of course not!" I yelled to her, causing Shuichi to glance at us

"You. Fucking. Idiot!" She yelled at me with her fists clenched and she stood up and as did I

Her arms flexed as she was about to choke me, her eyes stern, she is the Ultimate Assassin, don't say I'm weak for not being able to stop her!

But not gonna lie...

Her mad expression is kinda...sexy

"Do you wanna die?" She yelled at me

Suddenly, she stopped and let go,
letting me breathe

"Ngh..! Damnit Maki-Roll!" I yelled, clenching my neck

"..Momota..!" She yelled suddenly, probably realized she did that in front of everyone

She grabbed my hand and I jolted as she ran out of the classroom with me

Shuichi and Kaede looked surprised,
but that's the last I saw

"Momota!.....Are..you....okay..?" She asked, she sounded even more worried then before

"Yeah I should be-" something stopped me mid sentence, I gripped my stomach as it churned

I put a hand over my mouth, I felt something coming up

"B-bleh!" Suddenly, I choked up blood and it got all over my shirt and my hand plus on some of Maki-Roll's clothes!

"..huh..?" I looked down as I realized what just happened

Maki's POV

"Momota!" I suddenly yelled out, he had choked up blood after I choked him

Oh no..this is all because I couldn't keep my hands to myself, I'm the idiot!

My heart was beating fast, what was wrong with him?! What did I do?

This is all my fault!

Wait..

Why do I care so much?

I feel guilty and..!

I need to just get him help!

With my hand in his I ran down the hall to the nurses office

"Ms.Mikan!" I yelled inside

"P-Please help!" I yelled out once again

"M-Maki-Roll..! It's fine really...I'll just clean up and then we'll make our way back to class okay..?!" He told me

"No." I replied shortly when I finally heard an answer

"I'm s-so sorry! I-I w-was so busy I-I'm...Please forgive me!" The nurse cried as she made her way over here

"W-What happened?!" She asked

"..I choked him and he choked up blood and-" I tried to continue but she had already started frantically looking for medicine

"D-Don't Worry! I-I t-think I'll just c-clean him up and t-then give him so p-pain medication and t-then h-he can rest!" She cried out as she ran back to him

"Take these p-please!" She asked him

"It's f-fine..! I don't need medication! I need to g-get to class..!" He exclaimed

"Wel-" I cut her off "Just take them Momota!" I yelled to him

"I'll change and then w-we'll let me rest..! Now run along b-back to class..! No need to worry about me Maki-Roll!" He reassured me

"I'm not worri-" I cut myself off as I thought about it

He's right......I was worried about him.. but why..? I don't even care for that idiot that much!

"I'll leave.." I sighed as I made my way out of the room and into class

No one told the teacher I guess, but Saihara and Akamatsu asked me about it..I just told them he's got a little cough

He knows my secret and I'll keep this as his secret...for now..
