Short 6 - Valentines Day

Cannon, someplace in the story idk I'm tired

Maki's POV:

It's a normal school day

Right..?

If it really was normal, would everybody be wearing red and pink?

If it was normal, would everyone be handing out cards, flowers, and chocolates?

What's going on???

I suddenly was dragged away into a closet, I then pinned the attacker to the wall of it, "What do you want?" I asked in a threatening tone, grazing my hand over my knife

"Chill Maki-Roll it's just me!!!" I heard Kaito yell frantically

I removed my hand from the wall and stared into his purple eyes so he could explain himself

He held out a rose with a blush, "Happy Valentine's Day! Would you like to be my Valentine?" I could make out his large grin

"What's Valentine's Day? I asked cluelessly, his jaw dropped

"It's the holiday of love! Where you gift those you love things and tell them how you feel! Being someone's Valentine is like being their date!"  Kaito explained

"So...you want me to be your date? You love...me..?" I asked, doubting it yet still couldn't help the heavy blush creep up my cheeks

"A-As a friend of course!!! Valentine's Day is also a day for friends....definitely-!" He stuttered out with a red blush

"Sure. Is that it? I don't get the point of it besides just saying that you're my Valentine." I said honestly

"That's why we're going out somewhere with Shuichi and Kaede to celebrate! Their each other's Valentine's unsurprisingly!" The astronaut grinned as per usual, stretching his hand out for me to grab the rose

I wrapped both of my hands around it, our hands touching another's for only a moment

I held the flower to my eyes as I inspected it

"Anyways! Let's get going yeah?" Kaito laughed nervously as he yanked my hand and pulled us out of the closet to lead me somewhere else

I didn't pay attention as to where he was dragging me, so I didn't notice when we had stopped at his van

He gestured for me to join him, so I hopped in the passengers seat and continued to stare at the rose in thought

Once we arrived I finally looked up to see a nice restaurant decorated in flowers all over

We walked inside, he talked to the person at the front and so we sat down at a four seated table, waiting for the Saimatsu couple

Soon they arrived with a noticeable blush plastered on both of their faces

We ordered drinks and talked about Valentine's Day and such

"You won't believe it! I heard Naegi actually asked Kirigiri to be his Valentine and she accepted!" Akamatsu exclaimed with glee

"I'm not surprised, I've seen the two hang around each other before." I thought back to when I went to the cafe with Kaito

We continued to talk about other stuff until the food came. When we finished and it was time to order dessert, both Saihara and Akamatsu left for a moment leaving me and Kaito

"How's your day so far Maki-Roll?" Kaito smiled

"Good I guess." I replied as I stared at the rose

"Lemme see that!" Kaito pulled the rose from my hand and then lifted my chin up to his face

Why does he look so hot all the time, damnit.

I dismissed that thought from stupid teenage hormones and stared into his warm purple eyes

He then gently tucked the rose stem behind my hair

"See! Now it's a hair accessory!"  He exclaimed

I smiled slightly, admiring his constant excitement when Akamatsu and Saihara came back

The detective and pianist shared a sundae, Kaito and I ordered a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream on top

It was super yummy, and once we finished we headed out.

Akamatsu laid her head on Saihara's shoulder as she grabbed his hand and held it tightly. I just watched

Kaito opened the car door for me and bowed, "M'lady~"

I hopped in the car seat and laid my head on the window. Falling asleep quickly

...

I woke up in my bed, weird, I could've sworn I was in Kaito's car. Was that a dream?

I got up and I heard stuff fall, I went to the source of the noise and saw a heart shaped box with a letter attached to it

Happy Valentine's Day Maki-Roll ;D

I guess he carried me back here and left this, how thoughtful.

I opened the heart shaped box to an array of many different types of chocolates

I smiled fully at the sight, thinking of the astronaut.

He's too sweet, sweeter than this chocolate.
