Chapter 30 - Shot into my heart

Maki's POV

I woke up!

That exclamation mark caught you off guard huh?

It's only natural, after all I'm not like Akamatsu and Momota who wake up every morning with a prep in their step, that's not me.

But what happened last night you could say, put me in a good mood, at least a big improvement from yesterday

And although I forgave him, I have mixed feelings about it

But I'm just gonna try to 'enjoy' this Friday

I got up from my bed, rubbing my eyes, an unfamiliar blanket was on me

I stopped rubbing my eyes to take a good look at it, it was...Kaito's jacket?

Right, he did have to put me to bed last night..

Red flushed on my face

I remember last night, I was half-awake the entire time he carried me, luckily I was able to hide my faint blush as he carried me in his arms

Once he got to the dorm, I heard him say something under his breath

'You truly can't get any cuter..'

It was really hard not to get flustered or anything, or maybe I was just to tired to

But...

He finds me.....cute..?

Kinda weird considering I was asleep, but I'm sure he doesn't mean it like that..

Anyways, Kaede and Shuichi teased him as per usual, he then gently placed me on the bed before leaving

But then he stopped, he turned around and looked at me, he contemplated something before grabbing one of my twin tails

He undid both of my twin tails with ease before leaving

That's all I remember.

So I guess he left his jacket with me, I thought he got rid of it once he placed me on the bed but I guess not

What do I do with it, do I...give it back or..?

If I give it back in front of everyone, everyone will think he slept over or something, I can't let that happen

So I guess I'll just try to find the right time...

Oh I know! I'll ask him when I can give it back.

I got up from my bed and then freshened up in the bathroom before grabbing my backpack and stuffing his jacket inside, I then made my way to the dining hall with Kaede

"I'm glad you're feeling better!" She exclaimed to me as we walked

"Yeah.." I mumbled, trying to end the conversation

Once we made it, I sat down next to Momota

"Heya Maki-Roll! Glad you feel better!" He exclaimed

"Hi." I replied

Now would be a good time to ask him..

"Momota, you left-" he intervened, "So, have you guys decided what to do for your projects yet?" Momota asked

"Mhm! It's a surprise! And I convinced Shuichi to present in front of everyone at the dance!" She exclaimed proudly

"Great! Me and Maki-Roll haven't talked about it yet since she fell asleep while we were stargazing. Speaking of, wanna decide during talent development time? Maybe I could finally go into your lab!" He exclaimed with his grin
