Maka and Matoi were asleep in their bed side by side. Makas body began to sweat from fear of being trapped in a nightmare she can't get out from.

Hours felt like days and days felt like weeks. Maka finally broke out and screamed in agony. Their parents ran to their room

"Maka! Matoi!" Spirit yelled as he burst through the door and turned on the light.

He sees Matoi sit up next to their sibling with wide eyes trying to wake up and help their sister

"Pa! ma!" Maka hurt her throat from screaming causing it to be raspy

"Oh honey look at papa" Spirit said as he sat next to his small child

"papa and mama are here and there is no one here to hurt you. Bad dreams can't hurt you alright" Kami said with her motherly kind voice

"I don't.. want to go away...again" Maka hiccuped

Spirit looked at Kami in confusion.

Two days later it happens again. A nightmare so painful Maka doesn't remember.

"It happened again papa!" Maka cried

"How about we sleep together tonight huh?" Spirit suggested

"Like a sleep over?" Matoi said tired because they were also tired from their sister waking up crying from terrible nightmares

After Matoi and Maka go to sleep, Maka taking the longest to sleep, Spirit was worried.

"This is the second time it happens, we need to take her to a doctor. I'm worried about her" Spirit says

"I think so too. Matoi seems to be fine but let's take them both just in case" Kami said

While Spirit and Kami tried to find a doctor, Maka had nightmares nearly every night. They found a doctor who did evaluations on both Maka and Matoi separately.

Matoi appeared to be fine, Maka's nightmares gave her anxiety. Spirit and Kami asked for more studies to be done of what is happening in her brain.

They scanned her body brain and look into her soul, but nothing out of the unusual. The doctors kept her over night with cables keeping track of her brain activity. Spirit stayed at the hospital while Matoi stayed at home with Kami

Maka slept soundly the first night at the hospital, like if there were no nightmares happening. When they came back home the following day, Spirit still felt unsure of how Maka was not able to sleep in her own bed.

"Maka Matoi, we have a present for you" Kami announced

"We bought a small night light that will light your room a little and it will protect you from all your bad dreams and let Matoi sleep soundly " Spirit explained

He pulled out a gem shaped night light. Maka gasped as her eyes widen at the beautiful shiny crystal that will protect her from her nightmares

"Wow look Matoi! It's so pretty" Matoi smiled and nodded in agreement

That night Maka was so excited she thought she wouldn't sleep from excitement. She believed with all her heart that the nightmares were going to stop.

Maka woke up to a ray of sunlight that peaked from her window through her curtain waking her up with a restful night.

"Matoi! Wake up, I didn't have a nightmare!" Maka said happily

"That's great Maka but I'm sleepy" Matoi said as their back faced Maka and tried to sleep again.

"Okay I'm going to tell papa and mama that the night light helped" Maka whispered so she wouldn't bother Matoi more

after a couple nights passed, Maka slept like if nothing happened.
