Raven was always lonely. Never really had any friends. She managed to procure an apartment for herself despite having no money.
She realised, when she went to school, that people simply didn't care what situation she was in. Her Mother abandoned her when she was very young and she knew nothing about her father or any of her family. She could not afford the apartment let alone pay for school equipment.
That was until she met Damian. Damian Wayne was the son of billionaire play boy Bruce Wayne. The two were immediately easy friends and their friendship only got stronger as time went by. He had invited her round a few times to study in Wayne Manor which she would always gladly accept. His first visit to her apartment was nothing like her visits to the manor. She was in awe at how big and grand the place looked. How clean it was being kept and how it looked absolutely beautiful.
When Damian first arrived in her apartment he questioned how she could live how she did. There was next to no furniture, an uncomfortable bed and very few working appliances. Raven didn't want to make it seem like she was only friends with him for his money so when he proposed that she could stay in the manor or help her with the apartment she declined. She said she had to make it all happen herself which Damian understood.
(Present day)
Raven walked into school and hurried to her locker. For some reason she was eager to see Damian. She couldn't explain why but he always managed to make her heart beat quicken and her face turn warm. She thought perhaps she was ill but maybe it was something else. Pushing those thoughts aside, she placed her belongings in the locker, bringing only what was required to class. Once she entered she took her seat next to Damian who welcomed her with a warm smile which she gladly returned.
"You seem to be in a good mood." He said. He loved to see Raven happy and loved it when he himself made it happen which ended up being most of the time. He kept detecting weird stirrings in his body but thought it was something he ate. As he thought on it he realised it only happened around Raven. Curious.
"Shut up. I can be happy you know." She grinned at him.
"I know. You just seem a lot more... enthusiastic today, why? Is it because of the summer break?"
Raven didn't know why. Sure the summer break was nice but her apartment was still in shambles so maybe it wasn't that.
"I don't know actually." Her grin vanished and she made a face to say she was in thought. "Maybe I just... want to see my friend?" A blush crept on her and Damian's faces as they made eye contact.
Damian looked down, trying to suppress the blush. He looked back and cleared his throat with a small smile on his face. "Your friend is happy to see you too." Raven smiled at that.
They stared at each other for a while and remained oblivious to the fact the class had started and their hand were on each other.
They quickly moved away with blushes on their faces as they focused on their class.
(4 hours later)
School was over. The summer break had kicked off with a bang from the other students.
Damian and Raven received their timetables and an early seating plan. It was odd as it came sooner than before. What was more odd however was the fact they had the exact same classes at the same time and sat with each other. Every class. If that wasn't weird they didn't know what was.
As they left, Damian began to walk with Raven as they had agreed to get some tea.
They stopped at a nearby café and helped themselves. Being regular customers had a major discount benefit in their cases.
They sat across from each other and quickly began talking about what they were going to do throughout summer.
"Father will probably be busy all summer at Wayne enterprises. He never really has time off. Nothing for me to do really."
Raven gave a nod. "Same here... Oh shit!" Raven exclaimed. Her expression quickly became dull. Damian gave a look of concern.
"What?"
"Don't worry."
He realised she was looking at a text on her phone and felt he needed to know. "Raven tell me, something is wrong isn't it." It wasn't a question, it was a fact.
Raven sighed and looked up into his deep emerald eyes. "My landlord wants me out." Damian slightly opened his mouth in shock as his eyes widen. "Says that he's not gonna keep someone there who can't even give him 10 dollars a week." Raven looked down in sadness.
Damian took her hand in his as Raven looked up surprised at his gesture. She smiled at him and he smiled back. "I'm here to help whatever you need I'll be here." Raven nodded and put her other hand above his.
"I need you." Damian's eyes widened.
"What?"
"I need you. Damian I don't know what's going on with me but I keep getting nervous around you. I keep becoming happy around you and after a while of thinking about it I... I think I know what it is." Raven looked at him with a sincere expression as he tightened his grip on her hand.
"What is it Raven?"
"I think I'm in love with you."
Damian's eyes were wide in shock. As her expression turned to one of worry and fear at the thought that he might not feel the same, he quickly smiled. "I... I feel the same. I think I'm in love with you too."
Raven looked up in surprise once again. "You're... you're serious?" Damian nodded and placed a hand on her cheek as he began to lean towards her slowly. Raven leaned too and the two met each other's lips. The kiss was awkward at first, they had been best friends for two years and now they were kissing. After a little while however they pushed pass the awkwardness and it became one full of passion. They soon pulled away, panting and needing air. Soon they both smiled and looked each other in the eyes. Emerald met Amethyst.
"That answer your question?"
"Yes... definitely."
Hope you enjoyed the first chapter. Was gonna go for a slow build up but I don't want this to be really long and I couldn't figure out how to do it in a way that I liked it. Chapters will be released scheduled randomly I am not good at following a schedule and so I will not have one. 😂. Enjoy tho.
