My Only Love

Damian had convinced Raven that the need to tell his family about their relationship was necessary. She had known everyone in Damian's family through most of the time her and Damian were simply friends. Now they were in a relationship, a romantic relationship. The one thing that held Raven back from admitting her feelings for Damian and agreeing to be his girlfriend was the public. Damian was the son of a billionaire celebrity, high expectations were set for what type of person he should end up with. The key word was 'should'. Damian assured Raven that if she was uncomfortable with it then they could manipulate it to make it seem like they weren't together.

Truth be told, Raven was not so much worried about getting attention, she was more worried about why she would be getting attention. She was impoverished, couldn't even afford rent for a low end apartment. Now she was sharing Damian's apartment which was apparently all covered when it came to rent. Of course Raven knew that was code for "my father owns the building" but she didn't mind.

Living with Damian was weird at first but they quickly made it comfortable for each other. The weirdest thing for Raven and Damian was sharing a bed. The first night they slept with each other they had both ended up on the far edges of the bed, nearly falling off. The second night was when they decided they needed to cut the awkwardness and not try to invade each other's personal space. This time they took each other in their arms and found it to be very comfortable and peaceful. Raven had no idea, even after being friends for 2 years, that Damian could be so warm and loving. She was surprised but also happy that they were together.

Then the day came for her to be introduced to the Wayne family as Damian's official girlfriend.

Raven had the best relationship with Alfred out of all the Wayne family. He was good with conversation and made the best tea she ever had. Bruce wasn't much of a talker. When he was around though it was fine for Raven, not uncomfortable but not too comfortable. Selina was like Raven, formerly impoverished and had a slight history with Waynes. This brought Raven some confidence as to how well she would do in the public eye. Overall she was good friends with Selina.

The other children of Bruce Wayne barely appeared and she didn't really know them. On the drive up to the manor, Raven was assured that it would only be the main 3 which Raven was pleased with. She still wondered how Damian could drive at 17 but it was probably something to do with his family.

Raven could not stop bobbing her knee up and down as they approached the gate to which Damian gave her a glance and placed his hand on her leg, she stopped bobbing.

"Raven, it will be fine I promise." Raven shot him a half hearted smile that assured Damian that she was fine.

"I know Dami, it's just I don't wanna mess anything up down the line." Damian gave her a smile of his own, one that indicated he was happy but also trying to comfort his love.

"You won't mess anything up. You couldn't if you tried. I'll stay with you no matter what happens." This time Raven responded with a full, genuine smile. Damian returned the gesture.

As they approached the door, it was suddenly swung open and an old but warm smiling butler opened the door. Alfred bid them enter and paid no attention to the fact that Damian and Raven had their hands and fingers intertwined. That or he knew already.

The two walked into the dining room to be greeted by Bruce and Selina having some wine and celebrating something. Damian had no idea what and neither did Raven.

Once the adults noticed the young couple they raised their glasses and cheered, eating a raised eyebrow from Damian and Raven.

"Congratulations you two, about time." Selina said. She had a wide smile on her face which Bruce shared. It was clear that the lovebirds had no idea that the two adults and Alfred already knew about their relationship. But, how?

"How did you all know?" Damian asked. Irritation in his voice. Raven caressed his hand and shoulder, making Damian more relaxed than before.

"1 I'm Bruce Wayne. 2 I'm your father and I know these things." Damian paid him no mind and proceeded to sit at the table with Raven.

After eating and conversing for a while Bruce raised his glass and spoke up.

"To Damian and Raven, about time. Welcome to the family Raven." Raven smiled at this and they all raised their glasses. Damian shot her a smile which she returned before she roughly grabbed his face and kissed him. To day Damian was surprised at her boldness would be and understatement but he happily welcomed it. The two adults just watched and cheered.

Raven pulled away and spoke up. "I love you."
Damian was taken aback by this as it had been the first time that phrase had been used, though understandably so as their relationship had been going on for only 2 weeks.

"I love you too, Raven." They stared into each other's eyes and smiled. Emerald met Amethyst once again. Raven was happy to know she was accepted among the Wayne family. They kissed once more. This one being more gentle and slow.

They soon went off to their room (Damian's room) needing to rest as the day after was apparently going to be Damian's time to take Raven somewhere special and she couldn't wait to find out what it was.

Writing this in bed while my eyes try to stay open was not fun but I tried my best and I hope you enjoyed. Look out for the next chapter.
