Raven got up early the next morning, rendering sleep impossible. Damian got up with her and made her breakfast. Raven was still terrified of what happened to her and was still in a lot of pain from her broken ribs. Damian insisted that she lay down on their bed for the foreseeable future until she fully heals up. Raven reluctantly agreed and fell into a habit of only walking if absolutely necessary.
Damian felt sorry for Raven. After she talked about her past he felt he wanted to do something to truly make her happy. She wasn't as happy as usual and he didn't like that. He made her happy, especially when they first got together but he couldn't give himself to her. They had talked about the idea of sex between the two after Raven's story. She explained that she trusts Damian but she doesn't want to do anything until her past is buried to a point where she won't worry anymore. Damian understood.
"I'll be back soon Habibti." Damian said as he approached the door to leave their apartment.
"Where are you going?" Raven asked, sadness evident in her voice.
"Don't worry, I'm just helping my father with something. He sent me a message earlier." Damian lied. He was actually going to get Raven's present.
"Okay, I love you." Raven said as she forced a smile.
Damian sensed her sadness and quickly walked over to her and pulled her in for a heated and loving kiss. Raven truly smiled at that and looked more satisfied.
"That's better." Raven said as she laughed.
"I love you." Damian said before giving her a kiss on the forehead and leaving.
Raven had thought that Damian was actually leaving her. For some reason she found herself filled up with doubt. Ever since she told Damian about her past he had been a little distant. Raven didn't remember being like that when he told her about his so this was strange to her. After that kiss though, Raven immediately shut down the thought of him leaving her. That was, without a doubt, the best kiss she had ever gotten from him. She could feel the electricity in her from it and the raw passion and she could somehow feel that it was the same for Damian.
Damian quickly made his way down the street and turned into the nearby store holding exactly what he needed. He made a reservation to see what it was he was looking for.
As he entered the building a man with dark skin and brown hair approached him and abruptly shook his hand.
"Mr Wayne, it is awesome to meet you." The man said as he continued to shake his hand for way too long and quickly.
"Uh thanks, good to meet you." Damian mumbled awkwardly.
"Sorry it's just not everyday a Wayne comes into your pet store." The man said as he finally let go of his hand.
"It's fine, don't worry about it. Now show him to me." Damian demanded.
The man brought out the little black Dane. It was a small puppy and looked to be very nervous. That quickly changed when it saw Damian though. It was like the dog knew it would like him or seen him before because it started wagging it's tail and jumped into Damian's arms while letting out small barks. Damian laughed as the store owner said the dog likes him. Damian paid for the dog and left with it.
Raven had been sitting on hers and Damian's bed for a while now waiting for Damian. She couldn't help but feel a little sad and decided to ask Damian why he had been a little distant with her for the past week. The answer, of course, was a good one as it ran into the apartment and on the bed.
Raven jumped at the barking and reached a hand down to pet the small puppy. It wagged its tail and playfully fell on its back, allowing Raven to scratch his belly. Damian followed in quickly and laughed at the scene in front of him. Raven smiled brightly and felt an overwhelming happiness as she looked at Damian and then the dog, putting the pieces together.
"Surprise!" Damian said whilst moving to sit next to Raven.
"You got a dog?" Raven asked, not once losing the smile that Damian loved.
"You said you always wanted one?" Damian said.
"Yeah I did." She picked up the dog and placed him in her lap before she gave Damian a soft kiss on the lips and hugged him warmly. "Thank you so much, Damian."
"No problem, I'll let you name him. He might be our dog but he's mainly for you." Damian explained.
Raven pondered for a minute before lifting the dog up in front of her. "Titus." The dog, Titus, barked at the name and wagged it's tail, making Raven and Damian smile.
"Why Titus?" Damian asked thoughtfully.
"You said you liked that name because it was a Roman emperor, and I like the name too." Raven said.
Damian looked at Titus then at Raven's happy face and put and arm around her shoulder, making her smile bigger. "You ok?" Damian asked with concern.
"Yeah I'm good, really good now." Raven confessed. She told Damian about how she felt he was being distant towards her and he assured her it was unintentional and just didn't know how she felt with space. Raven appreciated that and felt even better when Damian said that he was also getting Titus.
"I love you so much, Damian." Raven told him.
They shared another passionate kiss and began to give Titus fuss before Damian spoke up. "I love you too, Raven. I hope I make you happy." Damian said.
Raven beamed a smile at him before giving one more kiss to him. She kissed him with all she could put in there. Screw the first kiss that day being good, this one was 5 times better. "You do. You make me so happy and you've done so much for me, I could not be happier. You're the best boyfriend." Raven exclaimed with love and trust in her voice.
"You're the best girlfriend." Damian chuckled.
The 2 ended up asleep as they played with Titus who also fell asleep. Raven had nothing to worry about, nor did Damian. They were all good and would be all good for as long as they were alive.
