Shaking again, why was she shaking again? Raven had this problem last time and she just could not stop shaking on the way to Wayne Manor. Bruce Wayne had called her and Damian, they assumed, to discuss the Gar situation. Then again it was a good while ago now.
Damian had a rather serious expression on his face. He knew that he wanted Bruce to stay out of this and let him comfort Raven, which he did, in his own way. Although, maybe he was jumping to conclusions. This could have absolutely nothing to do with what they were thinking.
"Ah, welcome Master Damian, Miss Raven." Greeted Alfred. The old butler looked happy to see them and the feeling was mutual. Alfred had been like an actual grandfather to him and had a lot of respect for him.
Raven had a similar relationship with him. Although, Raven had to earn his trust. He never once disliked her but he was wary of her. He had seen Bruce bring home a few girls who just wanted his money and Raven was broke when she became friends with Damian. Nevertheless she proved herself trustworthy and the old man got along very well with her.
"Pennyworth." Damian's usual greeting for Alfred.
"Hi, Alfred. How are you?" Raven asked as she smiled at him. He smiled back.
"Oh well I can't complain. Master Bruce doesn't pay me to do that unfortunately." Alfred said with a chuckle.
"Where is Father anyway?" Damian asked. He noticed that his father never really seemed to be around immediately and always came at odd times.
"Oh he should be here soon. Chances are he has forgotten how to use an oven or a washing machine again. Oh what a mess." Alfred said as he escorted the two into the manor. Raven still never could get used to the grandness of the manor, despite being there several times.
"Selina?" Raven noticed. Selina always seemed to be wearing a silk gown whenever she saw her. She was munching on a cookie when she noticed the 3 near the door.
"Oh shit you're here already?" Selina said as she stuffed a cookie in her mouth and wiped her hands. She came down to the two and embraced them each in a hug.
"Hey, Selina." Raven said. She had always gotten along with her. They came from similar backgrounds and understood how hard it was to survive in that life.
"Hey, Raven. How are you? I heard what happened, are you ok? Selina said worriedly. She cup Raven's face in her hands and began rambling on about random things to do with the situation that happened. Damian eventually intervened although he found it amusing with the way Raven was looking at him for help.
"Selina, she's fine. I've made sure. She had nothing wrong with her either." Damian complained. Selina just looked at him and ran her hand down his face.
"Aww you look after her don't you?" She said in a way too motherly voice. Damian swatted her hand away before rolling his eyes. Both Raven and Selina laughed.
"Anyway why are we here? What did Father want to discuss?"
"Well..."
"I need to talk about your school." Bruce said from the stairs as he walked down. Selina came beside him as he reached the bottom.
"What about our school?" Raven asked.
"It's not safe for you there, Raven. Or both of you really."
"I can take care of us."
"Maybe, but there's always a risk. We know what happened with your classmate and we don't want you to put up with that." Selina entered. Damian thought they were right but he had plenty of faith that he'd keep them safe, he'd keep Raven safe.
"So what? Are we transferring schools or something?" Raven couldn't help but feel responsible for this but Damian must've known that she was thinking about because he abruptly grabbed her hand and intertwined their fingers. The two smiled at each other.
Realistically they didn't want to transfer, it was all familiar to them and they couldn't fathom getting used to a new school.
"No. I spoke to your teachers and they agreed that you're miles ahead of everyone else, so we decided to move your exams up so you can leave earlier and pass." Bruce explained. What he received next was the equivalent to the sound of an electric car, there was basically no noice.
"You are a pain sometimes, you know that?" Damian spoke up.
"I know." Bruce said with an evil smirk. That was a first.
After a long chat about the situation, Raven and Damian accepted their fate and returned him with that information in mind.
After getting into bed, Raven climbed on top of Damian and rested her head against his shoulder as he wrapped his arms around her.
"We are really going to have to study like hell now huh?" Raven mumbled from Damian's shoulder.
"Yeah, this is really gonna suck. Still that went better than expected."
"Yeah."
A comfortable silence rested over them next before they gazed into each other's eyes for a while.
"I love you, Dami."
"I love you too, Raven."
"Goodnight, Dami."
"Goodnight, Raven."
The two went to sleep with content smiles on their faces after kissing each other goodnight.
Yeah I bet you thought it'd be worse. Nope. 😂
Anyway imma pass out from tiredness now. See you in the next one 👍🏻
