My Only Love

Akai Shi

After everyone heard the news of the wedding, the couple decided to head home. However, Bruce had a few things to ask Damian. He wanted to know about the one who attacked him: Akai Shi.

Raven didn't mind staying a little longer. She was able to catch up with Selina after a while. They often just discussed how fortunate they were to be in the situation they were in as opposed to their pasts. Selina was the only one who got it.

Damian sat in the chair opposite his father's desk. Bruce sat in the one behind it. It felt more like a business meeting. They never really had the best communication skills with each other.

"Damian, please tell me more about the one who attacked you." Bruce bluntly demanded.

"The samurai?"

"I would hope he's the only one."

"The only one who's beat me." Damian replied, anger visible in his expression. He felt humiliated.

"Hmm. Well I was thinking we could try sending details to the police. You never know Batman may take it seriously and pursue him." Bruce lied cleverly. It was hard for him to keep his secret from Damian. It didn't feel right to not admit he was Batman.

"Father, the police here are about as helpful as a company who provide internet connection. They can never do their job right. Batman would be helpful but I can't assume he'll help." Damian explained. Honestly, he just didn't want to give Akai Shi any attention. He may threaten other pursuers.

"Just tell me about him at least then." Bruce told him. Damian complied. He explained the things he had learned about his enemy. It wasn't much to go on but, Bruce got the impression that this could be his toughest fight yet.

Damian and Raven left shortly after Bruce had finished with Damian. It was a pleasant walk back and they found it very peaceful. Damian couldn't help but wonder what his father was planning on doing about Akai Shi. There wasn't really anything that could be done for now, even for Batman.

As they walked hand in hand, they began to talk about their wedding and the positive reactions of the family.

"I was surprised you came, honestly, Beloved."
Damian admitted.

"Yeah, I thought I shouldn't let you do it alone. It's about the two of us anyway; it wouldn't have been the right thing to do. We do it together." Raven confessed with a loving smile.

Damian returned the smile and squeezed her hand slightly.

"Thank you, Raven."

"No problem."

"Guess we should focus, fully, on our wedding plans if we are aiming for December." Damian said.

"Yeah. We can start when we get home. We still need to deal with Akai Shi tho." Raven responded. Damian nodded.

"That's what Father wanted to talk about. He seems to think that Batman and the police can stop him." Damian explained.

"They couldn't stop him could they?" Raven asked. Damian shook his head. He knew that Akai Shi had far surpassed Batman. The police weren't going to be a challenge at all.

"We'll find a way. We have to." Raven said confidently.

Damian just smiled and leaned in for a kiss that Raven returned with more intensity. Of course Damian compensated for that with even more effort. They emphasised their love for each other again.

Akai Shi was a problem but, he was not one they could get rid of anytime soon and without help. For now, wedding planning came first.
