"Uuuugggghhhh! I don't care if our teachers say we're miles ahead, it doesn't make things easy." Raven complained.
After her and Damian had their exams moved up to 2 weeks away, they had been studying nonstop. They couldn't deal with the sheer amount of rubbish they had to deal with in their exams.
Damian took it better than Raven. He had been slightly smarter than her for as long as he could remember. Raven was a bit competitive in that regard. He noticed that she was always really close to being as smart as him but it was little mistakes that did the damage in the end.
"Come on, it's not the worst thing, Beloved. Also you did that one wrong." Damian said with a snicker. He had been very supportive of this idea as it meant they could finish school early and Raven could be far away from the savages that tried to hurt her. Only one had shown themselves but, that didn't mean there wasn't more. He promised to protect her.
"God dammit how?"
"It's a vertically opposite angle, see?"
"Oh my god." Raven said putting her face in her hands and groaning. At this rate her simple and little mistakes would get the better of her.
"Don't overthink the hard stuff. Save some thought for the stuff that's not as hard."
"Easier said than done, Dami." Raven said in a tone that suggested she was tired of all of this. It was obvious to Damian that she needed a break. So being the good boyfriend he considered himself to be; he demanded she stop.
"What is it?" Raven asked with a curious look on her face.
"You need a break."
"Dami, I'm fine."
"You're taking a break, that's that."
"Ok." Raven sighed deeply. More of relief than anything else. "What are we doing?"
"Whatever you want, other than studying."
"Ok..." Raven pondered the thoughts in her head. Each one seemed good but she felt one really stick out to her.
"How about a carnival?"
"Sure."
Once they reached the nearby carnival, they started to go on everything they could. Damian and Raven laughed at each other when seeing the other's reflections in a weird mirror.
Damian won Raven an actual necklace from some guy who thought he could beat Damian at just about every game.
After a while they went on to the Ferris wheel which was practically empty. It stopped with the couple at the top and admiring the beautiful view. On one side there were tall buildings, but old. On the other: a luscious green environment that looked like a return to Earth before humans.
Raven rested her head on Damian's shoulder with a calm smile on her face. Damian shared that smile upon looking down at her beautiful face. She looked up to him and returned to eye level. Slowly, they leaned into each other. Their lips coming together and making them both feel high on their own love.
Upon retreating from each others faces, they began to look out at the view again. Their hands intertwined.
"Dami?"
"Yes?"
"What do you love most about me?" The question caught Damian off guard but it didn't take away his confident smile.
"I love your smile, I love your appearance. I could go on, Raven. Most of all: I love who you are. Your personality, your mind, body and soul. Everything... I love you." Damian confessed. Raven looked at him wide eyed. She had tears on the brink of falling from her eyes. She was so happy. She never thought anyone would love her. Not until she had Damian. Now that she thinks about it, she has always been in love with him. For him to be in love with him, to know that they loved each other the same amount was almost too good to be true.
Raven jumped into his arms after giving him a big, passionate kiss. She really did love this man. Now she knows how much he loves her and she couldn't be happier knowing that.
"I love you too, Damian. More than you realise. Maybe even more than you love me." Raven admitted, looking into his eyes.
"Impossible, my love for you is infinite." Damian laughed. "I even let you have KFC after we got home again." They both laughed.
"That was awesome, thank you so much."
"Next time we'll get delivery. I can't bare to look at Todd's stupid face more than 5 seconds." Damian said. Raven began cracking up whilst saying that Damian was mean.
They returned to study after that. It was a lot easier now that Raven had cleared her head. Soon the exam would come up and they weren't looking forward to it. This was the key to them leaving early.
This would've been so much easier had they not run into someone who they both found very annoying.
