As Enmu and I remained on the couch, wrapping our arms around each other's bodies and pulling ourselves as close as possible, I wanted this moment to last forever. My head was stuffed with relaxing thoughts and clouded dreams of never getting up, sinking into the couch and permanently feeling its warmth on my skin. It felt so immaculate - carelessly resting and letting my delusional imagination explode with pleasant fantasies, it almost felt unreal, everything seemed too peaceful and perfect.

...

"I hope you haven't forgotten about todays meeting" Enmu's voice rang out, crushing my comforting dreams in an instant.

"Ah shit. You're right..." I answered, disappointedly looking up at him as he signalled me to start getting ready.

My head still felt fuzzy as I lifted myself off the couch, nodding to Enmu before standing up and walking over to lightly peck his cheek, searching for proper clothing to attend the gathering in. Walking up to my closet for the second time this evening, I picked out a random white shirt and grabbed out a clean pair of pants, topping off with a long coat. I wasn't in the mood dressing up properly, so I ended up being satisfied with what I found in a few seconds, as long as I kept my signature strict and formal style I'll be gratified.

"How much time do we have until we'll get summoned?" I questioned, fixing the collar of my shirt in front of a mirror and slipping my shoes on.

"Any time now"

...

*Biwa chime*

...

A single blink of an eye and the entire infinity castle greeted my presence.

...

So did Master Muzan.

...

"Lower your heads and crouch down." Kibutsuji's voice haunted the fortress, making everyone immediately fall down to their knees and stretch out their hands forward, demonstrating their fearful gratitude for summoning us.

...

Only the lower ranks of the twelve kizuki have been summoned.

...

This could only mean one thing.

...

It was serious.

...

"Rui failed to accomplish my yesterdays task. Why is it that you demons in the lower ranks are so utterly weak?" He continued, looking over at Rui and making him feel pained on the inside from such embarrassing words.

I could see his own disappointment through his eyes, but before I could even think of anything Nakime sent him away by Master Muzan's command, sparing his life.

"For over a century, the members of the upper rank twelve kizuki remain unchanged. How many times have you been replaced?"

...

I felt frozen. Master definitely wasn't in the mood today. In fact he always was unpleased by the lower ranks as much as I remember. While I tried to keep my calm and continued politely listening to Master, I haven't even noticed that one of the lower moons already got killed in front of me.

...

"Every time you run into a Hashira the only thing on your mind is escape." Muzan added, turning his gaze on a girl behind me, witnessing her pleading that she'll put her own life on the line to fight for him.

...

But even that didn't satisfy Master.

...

One, two, three... Three of the lower kizukis were deceased in less than a few minutes after being summoned. Every time the lower moons get brought into this fortress at least three of them get to die. But this time... Master left no one but Enmu and I behind.

...

"I'm never mistaken about anything. I'm the only one who calls all the shots. My word is absolute. You deserve to die."

...

No one. No one was left except us two.

...

"Do you two have any last words?" Master asked, looking over at us without any hope left in his eyes.

...

"Well let's see...~ This is like a dream for us... To die by your hand in person.~" Enmu stated, letting me continue our perfect plan of reverse psychology and masochistic manipulation.

"And we so enjoyed hearing the other demons' last gasps...~ Because we love to see others in despair and agony...~" I picked up on commenting, letting Master get the perfect picture of what we are and getting as much trust from him as possible.

...

This isn't our first kizuki gathering with Enmu, so I had hope for Master's understanding. Muzan remained silent so I couldn't tell if he was satisfied with us or not, until I noticed a faint smile on is face and heard something loudly collapse from above...

...

"NGH!-"

...

"That's what I like to hear."

I felt a thick needle pierce my neck like shard of glass, injecting a liquid that shook my body to the core, making me roll around from the horrifying pain of Master's blood flowing into my veins. Enmu squirmed on the floor next to me, choking and trying to inhale as much air as he could, we both struggled to acclimate, almost making us lose control over our bodies as the blood became a part of us. An even more powerful part of us.

"I'm going to give you two an ample share of my blood. Make yourself useful to me. You both seemed to be showing quality results from the past few tasks I have given out, I must admit I'm impressed and wish for you to succeed further on. If you can kill the demon hunter wearing Hanafuda-like earrings, I'll give you even more of my blood." Muzan stated, commanding Nakime to dispel her demonic art and close us out of her fortress.

...

Where are we..?

...

Enmu and I appeared in an empty street, abandoned by the night's darkness, still trying to get back to our senses after meeting with Master Kibutsuji. I was still weakened after what I went through, but this time I felt a vision gush into me alongside Lord Muzan's blood, and I could finally picture my targets even more clearly.

"If we kill this kid, we can get more blood!~" Enmu excitedly moaned out, facing me while continuing uncontrollably trembling.

"Yes...~ Everything is going to go like a dream.~" I answered, taking his hand in mine and trying to recover myself.

...

I'm going to do everything I can to satisfy Master.

...

Anything.
