Rui kept me in captivity for over a few minutes now, which made me even more uncomfortable since I couldn't escape his embrace. His thin threads of web restrained my movements and would occasionally cause pain if I squirmed too much, this was getting way out of hand and I no longer could tolerate his persistence, so I had to do something about this.

"Rui.. Please release me, I think we need to talk." I stated in a serious tone, looking down at him and waiting for his further actions.

Rui let out a deep sigh before unhanding my body and dropping his threads loose, ashamedly looking down and avoiding eye contact with me. I almost felt like I was being guilt tripped for a second, I understand that he's just a young boy who has barely any clue on how to express love and treat people correctly, but still... What he did just now was out of the ordinary even for him, I never knew he was capable of behaving like this, especially with me.

"Look at me... What's going on..?" I asked as I gently placed my hands on his face and lifted it up so our eyes would meet.

"... Nothing."

"Rui, please don't get the wrong idea about this conversation, but just out of curiosity... Why do you act like this with me..? I've noticed multiple times that your behaviour towards me varies at times, one minute you're wholesome, the next you're completely different. It's like a switch flips inside you that completely changes the way you talk to me, the way you look at me..."

"... I'm sorry. I'm genuinely so sorry." Rui replied as his gaze dropped down to his knees in embarrassment.

"I don't know how affection works. You make me feel so warm on the inside, and I want you to feel the exact same way when you're with me... It's hard to explain." He continued as his voice became more shaky.

"I know what you feel. It's called romantical feelings. And we both know that I cannot feel that way towards you under any circumstances. One reason being because my heart is already taken, and the other is because you're basically a brother to me. We've discussed this before..."

"I know... Yet I still can't help myself. You're a beautiful woman and you have a kind soul, even for a demon." Rui replied, looking up at me with such a gentle glare that nearly made my heart melt.

"Thank you, and I will take those words as a feeling of comfortability that you have with me. I appreciate that you think so nicely of me, but obviously you don't know me that well to be certain with those words." I nervously said before a short yet awkward silence reigned over us, bringing an end to our conversation.

"... Alright." Rui mumbled, carefully standing up and freeing my lap.

"Right. I'm going to take my leave now, it was a pleasure seeing you again.~" I said my last words, patting Rui's shoulder as he emptily looked right through me.

"Yeah. I hope we can see eachother again sometime soon." He replied, finding the courage inside himself to shortly hug me one last time before we parted ways.

"Goodbye.~"

I returned to walking around in the fortress in silence, and after a while I found myself stumbling across a familiar place that glowed in a mesmerising shade of blue from afar. The scent of blooming lotus flowers and the sounds of trickling streams of water led to only one place - Douma's temple. I've always made my way past it when I would get sent to the infinity castle for gatherings, but seeing it up close made it seem even more heavenly. His palace is truly a great environment for living a peaceful and quiet life, it's got everything you need: beautiful gardens, spacious rooms, followers that help around... If only I got to experience a life like this one day...
