Nakime carefully sat down next to me and remained silent until I was willing to speak to her, she was always so calm and mysterious, I heard that she usually presented herself to be quite emotionless and very laconic, but something inside me always told me I could trust her and that she's a reliable person, even with the fact that we haven't communicated before. She seemed so serene, the hauntingly peaceful aura that she gave off made me want to wrap my arms around her and rest my head on her shoulder...

...

And that's what I did.

...

"..?"

...

"Why did you follow me?" I asked, staring into the endless halls and corridors of the fortress, letting my mind get clouded with such a beautifully distracting view.

...

She said nothing.

...

"Because I felt sorry for you." Nakime calmly answered after a few seconds, letting me tenderly curl up in her lap and hug her even tighter, I nuzzled into her shoulder and felt her arms gently slide around my body.

I love how obliviously caring she seemed to me, though I already calmed down after a while on my own, I didn't want to leave her warm embrace. She felt so fragile yet strong at the same time, the atmosphere around this woman felt so unusual to me, but her presence always made me feel some type of way... She somehow always stood out amongst the other demons I ever saw within the walls of his fortress, despite her looking so dark, it felt so pacifying to be in one room with her, she radiated such warm energy...

"I often watched you from aside when you were present in the infinity castle... You're quite similar to Enmu-san in some ways. But there's just something that makes you seem way more unique, and that's what's interesting about you. No wonder everyone keeps swooning around you. And if I'm honest, I always secretly wanted to know you a bit better." She shyly stated, letting a tint of blush spread around her cheeks as a flattered smile spread across my face.

"Awh Nakime...~ Why didn't you tell me right away?~ I would love to be friends with you..~" I replied, resting my head on her collarbone while trying to contain the feeling of butterflies wildly fluttering inside my stomach.

"... I didn't want to bother you because you were too busy with your personal life." She replied back, letting out a muted sigh.

"Well, I'm mainly out on missions with Enmu, so it's quite rare that I have a chance to stay here for a while.. Though if I'm honest I do adore this place a lot and I certainly wouldn't mind spending my free time here sometimes, this place is so cozy and soothing in a way...~" I complimented Nakime's blood demon art, after all she's the one who owns the fortress alongside Muzan.

"Though there is one slight problem that keeps bothering me. Douma. Why is he always here? It's like he knows when I'll be summoned." I complained.

"Oh, about him... Unfortunately his temple is located in this fortress. So he basically lives here."

"Does that mean he pesters you as well?" I questioned in mild surprise, I wouldn't have thought that Douma resides here.

"Yes. But he doesn't stick up to me like he does with you, and I usually teleport away before he gets to me." Nakime answered not being bothered, as it wasn't that big of a deal for her, though I did feel her discomfort for me when she mentioned my situation with Douma.

"What a dickhead. Dares to bother you too... He's so shameless I swear, I can't stand him." I snapped looking up at Nakime, I noticed how a tiny smile formed on her face and I felt her light hand touch the top of my head, making goosebumps instantly run down my back as she started gently stroking my hair.

"By the way... How did you know I was here exactly..?" I asked, lifting my head up and bringing my face close to her red lips, making her feel a little surprised at how small the distance between us was.

"I'm always somewhere around this fortress, it's a rare occasion when I leave it, although it's endless, I know it by heart." She replied, continuing to stroke my hair with a blush that remained on her pale skin, which was barely visible through her long bangs that covered half of her face.

...

"Alright. Let's get everyone here, Daki said she had a task for us, so it'd be a pleasure to be informed on it more" I spoke as I stood up and stretched, glancing over at Nakime and reaching my hand out so she could grip onto me and stand up, finding another reason to touch her somehow.

She nodded and delicately placed her hand in mine, making her long sharp blue nails slightly trace my skin as she held onto me tighter when grabbing her biwa, and once she was ready to bring everyone over here she plucked the strings of her instrument and everyone was gathered into one group again. Enmu and Daki immediately tried to rush up to me and load me up with questions about where I've been and what happened, but Nakime stepped in front of me, politely telling everyone to leave this situation behind and move on. Their glances seemed nervous and worried, but my face showed no signs of stress, as if I had forgotten everything in an instant.

"So, there's a task that has us involved that you wanted to talk about?" I broke the silence, making everyone click back to reality once my voice echoed in the fortress.

"Oh yeah! I'll tell you all about, it's a big one so be ready.~" She answered in excitement, making me anticipated for my next big mission.

Seems like Master caught something in me that pleases him and his wishes... I should consider it. I want that upper moon rank.
