Four months later

"I hate you." I glare at Juan as he stands in front of the mirror in our bathroom, taking a picture of himself.

He chuckles, letting his hands fall to his sides. "Why?" he asks, looking over at me.

"Cause you get to look like that while I look like this." I say, resting my hands on my big bump.

I'm 7 months pregnant now, and my belly has definitely made itself present. I look huge. I know I do, no matter how hard Juan tries to reassure me that I don't.

"You look beautiful, mi amor." he smiles, his hands caressing my bump lovingly.

I smile, giving him a quick kiss. "I love you." if it weren't for Juan, I'd completely hate my body by this point in the pregnancy. His constant reminders of how beautiful I look really help keep my confidence up. I love him more than he'll ever know for it.

He says he loves me too and kisses me once more before clearing his throat. "So are you coming with me tomorrow?"

"I don't know." I shrug, scrunching up my nose. This far into the pregnancy, flying for long periods of time doesn't appeal to me anymore, and it's also not recommended by my doctor. I stopped going to each of Juan's shows about a month and a half ago. His American leg of the tour ended a very long time ago, and he's since been going to South America, Asia, and Europe for his shows. "I wish I could, babe." I frown.

"I know, I know." he sighs, nodding. "I'll miss you." he smiles sadly, wrapping his hands around my waist—a task that is now much harder with this huge belly between the two of us.

I kiss him. "Me too. How long will you be gone for?" I ask, scared to hear the answer. When he's out of country, he tends to be gone for longer.

"Like a week and a half." he cringes, seeing the look of disappointment in my eyes. "I have shows back to back for a week and I'll be doing press for like a day or two in Paris."

My eyes water. "Aw, Paris." I frown. "This sucks." I groan, walking out of the bathroom. I lay down in bed, resting my hands on my belly as I watch Juan also make his way to bed.

"I know. I'm sorry, bonita." he wraps an arm around my shoulder once we're together in bed. "I'll be back before you know it though." he smiles.

I shrug. "I guess."

"We should get some sleep." he says. "I have to leave early tomorrow."

"Yeah, okay."

"Don't cry." Elizabeth frowns as I watch Juan drive out of our driveway.

I sniffle looking over at her. "It's the pregnancy hormones." I shrug, wiping at my eyes. "I never used to cry when he left."

"He'll be back before you even know it." she smiles, pulling me into her side.

I nod. "Yeah, I know. Let's go inside." I say, beginning to walk back into the house.

When Juan leaves for his shows, Elizabeth spends the majority of her time with me at my house. Now that I'm farther into my pregnancy, anything could happen at any given moment, and he'd rather me not be alone while he's gone. It's something I go along with to make him feel better while he's away.

"I'm gonna go have breakfast with Oscar, wanna come?" she asks once we've taken a seat in our family room.

I shake my head. "No thanks. I'm good here." I smile.

"Okay, I'll come back later." she nods.

"I'll be here." I say, sighing.

"Hi, Mrs. Londoño?" I hear David, one of the security guards that's at the front gates of our neighborhood say over the phone.

I nod. "Yeah? What's up?" I ask. We have phones set up all around the house that are set up to only receive calls from our security. I'm currently in bed eating a packet of oreos as I hold the landline up to my ear.

"There's a girl here who says she's here to visit you." he says. I hear him ask the girl her name and then get back on the phone. "Laila she says her name is. Does that sound—"

I almost choke on my cookie. "Laila?!" I ask excitedly, cutting him off. "Oh my God, yeah! Yeah, send her in!" I say quickly, nodding.

"Okay, we'll open the gate up for her."

I thank him and then hang up the phone. It takes me a few tries, but I eventually get out of bed. Carefully, I get myself down our long staircase and then out to the front door. "Laila!" I shout excitedly as she gets out of her uber.

"Adrianna!" she smiles wide, running over to me, leaving her luggage behind, outside of the car. She stops right in front of me, looking down at the belly in between us. "I won't squish the baby?" she asks, looking back up at me, worried.

I laugh, pulling her into a hug. "No." I shake my head, squeezing her tightly.

"Adrianna..." she smiles, pulling away after a few moments. "you look amazing. Glowing." she says, looking at me in awe.

I smile, actually believing her. "Thank you." I nod. "You look great too. It's been too long." I say, pulling her in for another hug.

She agrees and then pulls away to get a good look at the house. "This is where you live?" she asks, her jaw dropped.

"Like it?"

She scoffs. "More like love."

"Come in." I smile, opening the door for her. She walks in, looking around in amazement. "I'll give you a tour after you tell me what the hell you're doing here." I laugh, shaking my head.

I lead her into our formal living room and have her take a seat. "Juan." she gives me a giddy smile.

"Juan?" I ask, confused.

She nods. "He called me late last night, after you had fallen asleep. Said you were super upset about him having to leave for Europe for so long. Asked me to fly over and keep you company." that was so sweet of him. "I agreed immediately, and now I'm here." with a smile, she shrugs.

"Did he at least pay for you to fly over on such short notice?" I ask.

She rolls her eyes. "You really think he wouldn't have?"

"You're right." I smile, nodding.

"I'm so happy to be here, Adriana." she smiles widely. "This is my first time off of the island."

My eyes widen. "Seriously?"

"Yeah. Never been anywhere that wasn't Hawaii."

"Well how long are you staying for?" I ask her.

"A month. Juan said he'll be gone twice this month, so he offered me to stay until he comes back the second time." she shrugs.

The thought of him being gone for so much of the month saddens me, but knowing I'll have a friend here makes up for it. Barely, but it does. "This'll be so much fun, Laila." I smile, nodding.

"Your home is beautiful, Adrianna." she says, looking back at our dining room.

I smile again. "Thank you. I'll give you the grand tour, get you settled in, and then we'll go get dinner, how does that sound?"

"Perfect!" she smiles excitedly, nodding.
